Symonds certainly didn't look out of place filling in at Centre yesterday.

Dane Chisholm should get a go if Tom needs to be on the bench.
The kiddie can run, score and is a goal kicker

Hiku could come up as a winger with Tafua coming in or Esi Tonga could come up who has first grade experience.

after shoulder surgery in August, i'm now available tooves!

otherwise, symonds did well or i like duff's idea (little bit worried symonds may not be quick/agile enough for centres, but if marking up on bitch-tits idris he'll be fine)

Wheel, Ben Farrer offers very little, to slow and his defense is weak. Haiku to the wing, or Symonds, as Av8r says, he did nothing wrong and set up the last try with a strong run. A nice dilemma to be in. I just hope that Stevie isn't out for long as he certainly has started the season very strongly.

Taufua is still learning his craft on the wing, silly option to move him in one

Esi Tonga is a specialist centre and Farrar is there as well, either one of those 2

Will they be on the idris side? I see idris being tired after a big game in 30deg heat and very high humidity. If Matai is ok he will run rings around him. If not I'd like to see Horo and Symonds alternating on the left edge. Keep the tempo high and finish on top.

I'm with you Kiwi. Taufua's got to stay on the wing. Playing centre is a lot different to wing for someone who is not experienced in that position. So it has to be either Farrar or Tonga. Both have played the top grade at centre so are our best options. And Farrar's played with many of the fist grade team so would have the edge over Tonga.

Just thinking about things again. Maybe Symonds is the go at centre. He has also played there before and would be better marking Idris (providing they are on the same side).

But can he tackle !

One thing about Symonds....He seems to be able to break the line and role his sleeves up in defence. Handy combo for for a team supposedly lacking in depth.

I can't believe people would consider Symonds as a centre. It's one thing for a second rower to occasionally drift out as a wide running player for impact. But another thing altogether to be out there permanently.

off wikipedia:
Position Lock, Second-row, Centre, Five-eighth

Bozo was rapping him early on as a future Origin star. He was at centre then.

I stand corrected. Although he still looks like a second-rower to me.

IMO there are two options.
1. Symonds to centre. He's big enough to handle Idris
2. Dane Chisholm to 5/8 with Foz moving to centre. This option is more disruptive than the first one, which seems the obvious one to me.

For those suggesting Ben Farrar I'm afraid that he's not big or fast enough now for first grade. Go and watch him play Reserve grade and I think you'll be convinced.
