Can we invent a trophy and invite Gallop out to Brookie after rnd 5 to present it to us after we flog the tigers.........
As a nice touch we'll name it after him.

The Failed Solicitor Cup.

how about the c**t CUP

They are useful unlike Gallop

Ron-E-Gibbs, which game were you watching to say we weren't that bad.  We were atrocious.  It looked like a trial match to me.  I can't remember a good player for us.  Maybe Killer.  It seemed at times that we had never played together.  The new winger, S something, looked lost.  Bani, rusty as hell.  Robbo, a winger really.  Everybody else just ordinary.  Anyway Dessie has lots to work on.

IMO, Bailey didn't seem to link with the backline moves, kind of didn't gel. Much like Jamie Lyon in the first few rounds of 2008.

I think we need to chuck Killer back in at 5/8th. We looked so good with him at 5/8th last year.
Bailey had a shocker...

I'm not going to say that they played well, but it's a bit rough to single out the back 3. They weren't our worst, and really, matches are rarely won and lost on the wing. Our problems lay further infield. But overall we were outplayed by a focussed team that came prepared to play.

So true. Fcuken El Masri chucking his hands up like a fag when  he nailed a goal or two. He's a **** fcuekn winger who can kick goals.

We'll roll them when it matters. If they make it.

Maybe I was wearing my rose (maroon) coloured glasses. But I thought we tried hard, right up to the final whistle. It was just that nothing came off - whenever we were building pressure we either dropped it (Bailey was the worst offender) or put up a poor kick (Ox).
And I actually thought our pack played better than theirs (Hall, King and George Rose have nothing to be ashamed of). But again we got nothing for it because of all the penalties.
Anyway, I agree that it looked like a trial. We can only improve, I hope.

couple of things
Lyons no try - was i the only one who thought Strip
Bani's was bull****
34 - 20 would have been alot more respectable.

some dogs wankers at rleague are going to town but u expect that they haven one much lately.

I thought the video ref was there to look for reason to give the try not take it away. Seems like that is bs after the amount of times they looked at our tries before taking them away. The ref last night was all over us big time

Cliffy and Dan.  I was there and they were not tries.  I'd scream if they were given to the Dogs.  Killer lost the ball and Bani's foot/hand/knee were on the line before he put the ball down.  Robbo probably would have scored both.  A compressed defense needs the winger to know what's going on.  Our new one last night didn't, full stop.  Don't weaken one position to strengthen another is my mantra.  And Robbo is NOT a fullback.

Bani stepped outguys. It was clear.

Lyon lost the ball and it hit the other player. knock on.

Although a few of their tries were dodgy.. one of them was a forward pass.. and another in the first half.. on the tackle before the player clearly didnt play the ball properly in the lead up to the try.

But in the end we were rubbish. Watmough should be ashamed of himself.. slaps out a sponsor then dishes that ****. Give yourself one Choc.

Choc has had a miserable week.  he'll get over it.  Of the forwards I thought King and Hall were our best.  Didn't sight Rodney.

tbh I dont think  Bani stepping out was "clear" Kaza.  The call could have gone either way and at the end of the day it made no difference to the end result.

Garts he was clearly out on a couple of points.  Anyway, it wouldn't have helped as we were gone by then.  There's a line on here to push Bailey into the second row and have Killer back at 5/8th until Brett gets back.  Maybe a good idea?  We need to get a specialist fullback there as Robbo is a superb winger, but an ordinary fullback.  And I have no idea what happened to our illustrious starting prop.

I did not see anything that would say he was "clearly" out.  In saying that I was not paying that much attention as the game was over.  I actually thought the grounding was the reason for no try.

How did Hoppa go last night in the 20's at fullback?

Id give Bailey a bit more time.. he struggled.

Garts, i thought it was pretty clear.. on the side angle you could see his foot out before he dropped.

Some of these grapes are sour LOL

The bagging of El Masri is over the top imo, he has near on 150 tries next to his name

I was just happy that I was half chopped when I got home at 3am to watch it, and I had a fair indication of the result from some of the looks I was getting from the lads

Didn't play. He's way too young to throw into the top grade at any rate. It would do more harm to his career than good.

Bailey was ordinary (perhaps very ordinary), but at full strength he will know his role better. The way Manly plays, he is never going to be playing a traditional 5/8 role - Matt Orford will always be the leading man, with Brett Stewart, Glenn Stewart, Killer and Bailey all slotting in at various points to play second receiver. Without Snake, the whole system falls apart (a bit). Robbo is a tremendous winger, but he either doesn't know the plays where Snake chimes into second receiver on the right hand side of the field to create an overlap, or he doesn't have the ability to read the play as it unfolds. I'll guess it is the former, but the sooner Brett comes back the better off we'll be.

And I'll still tip Manly next weekend.
