That's great news! (obv)

So add a woohoo! from me :):):)

Makes me think of all the threads on here about all our major players and how they were definitely going here, there, anywhere but staying at Manly.

We'll never learn but surely there's a lesson here about not believing the 'hype'.

That's why I never really posted in those threads because as nice and as 'in the know' as some of you say you are *cough cough* one can never trust the good mate's brother in law training partner etc etc. It's official when it's official.

The lesson - have faith, wait and see, have a less stressful life.

Why we wont learn from it - where's the fun in that?? :)

So happy days! Thank you Penn and Brett for being able to come to terms. Now on to the finals and give B2B a great shake!

Go Manly!!!!

What a great impetus for the Defence of The Title.

At last week's game, we chanted Brett Stewart after his two tries.
Bretty must surely know the genuine affection that we all have for him

Also found out that Wolfie's Option had expired last October. So a big Manly Hug to 2V for reactivating that and helping our little furry friend:angel:

Wish they could name Wolfie 19th Man for the Finals,he always misses out:idea:

Well done to the Manly Management!

How quick were the terrorgraph to tell us that Brett was off to Rugby, the Roosters, the Dragons and everywhere else but Manly?

If Brett had signed elsewhere, you could have bet your balls that the DT would have had the story on the front and back cover with opinion pieces from bourbon Becky, Paul Kent and others.

For the moment, nothing but silence regarding the man the DT were made to pay defamation compensation too.

Good one BE. Those guys are probably busy tweeting each other about how to put a negative spin on this one. They can't come up with anything so no reports.

From the SMH

MANLY were meant to be decimated following the departure of Des Hasler to the Bulldogs, yet on the eve of another finals appearance, the signature of fullback Brett Stewart on a four-year deal is confirmation that one of the best squads of recent years will not be broken up.
At least not to the point many had predicted. The Sea Eagles will lose second-rower Tony Williams to Hasler's Bulldogs next season, while their young forwards Darcy Lussick and Daniel Harrison will switch to Parramatta, but the core of the squad will remain.
Five-eighth Kieran Foran re-signed despite the lure of Hasler, halfback Daly Cherry-Evans extended his contract while hooker Matt Ballin and centre Steve Matai committed to the club.

It's a far cry from the fear and loathing following Hasler's controversial departure. Having taken some key staff with him, there were concerns that the premiership squad built by Hasler was set to be torn apart this year and beyond. But the exodus did not eventuate.
Stewart's signature is the last significant piece of the puzzle for this year. He was the subject of interest from St George Illawarra, but after a lengthy negotiation process with Manly, Stewart has agreed to a deal that is reportedly worth $2.4 million - effectively pledging himself to be a Sea Eagle for life.
''I love Manly. I've never wanted to be anywhere else and it's really satisfying to know I can play out my career here,'' Stewart said. ''We have a really tight playing group, a really positive culture and I want to be part of that for as long as I can.''
While the Sea Eagles had long agitated about the time it was taking to re-sign their NSW fullback, the timing will no doubt be used to their advantage. The Sea Eagles are now the premiership favourites, having won five matches in a row, and the confirmation of Stewart's signature will boost their finals tilt further.
''It's great news,'' Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey said last night.
''It's great news for Brett and I'm sure the fans will be very happy. He's been in great form and this will certainly be good news for us going into the semis. He's a vital part of the team, and I think he's just warming up at this time of the year.''
Stewart, 27, has helped the Sea Eagles to two grand-final victories.
''Brett is a quality player and a quality person and is an integral part of our leadership group,'' Toovey said. ''Needless to say, he's highly respected by everybody at the club and it's outstanding he remains a one-club player.''
The Sea Eagles play Gold Coast on Saturday night at Skilled Park in the final round of the regular season. They remain a chance of securing a top-two position.
If the Sea Eagles finish where they currently sit - fourth - they will likely play Hasler's Bulldogs on the first weekend of the finals. It is a squad built by Hasler, but not yet obliterated by him.

There is a snippet in todays tele that lauds how they were the first to break the news 2 weeks ago. What a crock of ****. For the life of me I dont really know why I still subscribe to that rubbish.

Come on,how can you report real new when it happens if you are sitting at your desk in the office making up news that you hope will hurt the gtreat Manly club. No-one can be in two places at once.

I went to check that out. But 'the mole' says ...well it's been reported 27 times already.

So I guess the tele didn't mention that neil armstrong died because it's already been reported.

So many papers, so many 'tards.

That said I didn't know that many threads from here got twittered!

Surprised to see my canada v lebanon one done. (cash coming no doubt)

Better be care about what I post (looking at you, empty bottles of jim beam)

Dunno either, wish all mentions of them were banned on here.

Those nrl 'gits' are just one big circle jerk.

Go Snake!

Go Manly!!!

That DVD that you want produced with all Snake's tries, including the ones he set up.... can you include the ones he stopped as our last line of defence!

For a little guy with no shoulders, he stops a sh**load of tries!

Very true. We all know the Snake is a great try scorer but people can be quick to forget how valuable he is as the last line of defence. It would be interesting to compare our points conceded stats when he plays & does not play.

I can see the headline from DT
"Unwanted Snake forced to re-sign with Manly for only 4 years"

Stunning retention so far this year when we have been bombarded with news that everyone was leaving.

Onya Brett. We have one of the greatest retained line-ups in the history of the club.

Yet about the same time as the Stewart anouncement the telecrap had a non-story on how the dog wasn't happy with the way they played against canberra. I note there's another non-story online about the bulldogs.

Egg all over the faces of the telecrap reporters with the "scoop".

Excellent. Brett is Maroon n white through and through. Our win/loss % with and without him is huge.

1,6,7 & 9 are sealed. Tooves, Penna, Parrish n co can develop younger players around this core. Future still looks bright and it really p!sses other teams and fan's off. LOVE IT!!!

Can someone please give me list of the u20's players from other clubs we've sign for next year too?

Might be time to ressurect the "Snake to sign with Dragons on Friday" thread so we can read all the epic fails.
