Dogs and Raiders cheerleaders had their pom poms removed by the PC Police.

Hope you red blooded Manly Men have voiced your support for our beautiful ladies on the sideline @manlyseaeagles

We ladies are also proud and appreciative of the effort they put into their costumes and routines, even in the freezing night games in winter.

well bulldogs....that's what happens when you have a *cough* woman as a ceo!!

wow GE I cant believe you would make such a sexist statement!

I know, tis unlike me but I'm blaming 'gentleman jack.'

As for the raiders....well most people (guys) would appreciate the cheergirls dancing in cold weather!!

edit: maybe with the 'dogs, everyone got sick of the fact that every time you looked at one of the ladies....20 guys came up to you and said " hey you look at my cousin....you gotta marry her now hey!"

They let the pc lot get rid of the shoulder charge and punching from rugby league without so much as a whimper. Cheerleaders will be next.

Anything that makes RL unique and better than the other codes is under attack.

Sadly the game's management are not as tough as the players on the field.

The same media that demanded rugby league kill the shoulder charge and punching as they are bad examples to the public and danger to the players, are the ones defending the UFA and MMA, saying sport doesn't influence what the public and kids do. They also say the men taking part in UFC/MMA know the risks, so its their call whether to take part in the sport or not. Meanwhile when it was rugby league they were saying players needed to be protected from themselves.

I asked my wife 'Do Cheerleaders offend you?'. Her response was pretty indicative of most women, 'I really don't careless and there are bigger issues to worry about'.

It really is a joke.

I love nothing more than a perve on the cheerleaders (especially ours....they are HOTTTTTTTTTT!). But it's not like they are pornographic and gyrating on a wrecking ball.

To the administrators of the game......STOP MAKING RUGBY LEAGUE A MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BOREATHON!

they can just back off,and leave our girls alone

RL administration in this country has a decidedly weak spine nowdays. They refuse to engage opponents and to tell them to rack off, instead they avoid fights so as to stop media's negative spin. Cheerleaders will soon be banned from all 16 clubs, and by then the game will be touch footy anyway.

The quote from Ms Castle says...""We want to go in a more professional direction than just dance in revealing outfits. They'll still be doing cheerleading at the game, they will still have pompoms, but we're going to give them more opportunities as well."

So...if they are still going to be cheerleading.... what's all the rhubarb about?

Bulldogs fans have responded with scorn.
"Political correctness strikes again," lamented one on the Herald Sun website…
"Whatever happened to good old Aussie ways," said another. "This is why women don't make good CEO's in a man's domain of sport.

Exactly. If women aren't content to just look decorative and serve men in the kitchens and bedrooms, why don't they all just go back to … oh … er, New Zealand?

Yes, and I notice no-one ever complains about all those male cheerleaders prancing in skimpy speedos at women's netball games.

I dont care what other clubs do but I hope they don't replace the girls with drummers like Souffs did - now that was not PC!

They're not just cheerleaders they are dancing. Dancing is one of The Arts. We Manly fans are cultured. We have an actor who performed in tropfest. I personally believe in supporting these women in performing their Art.

Seriously what next LOL!!! Make the players wear pants and loose long sleeve shirts because their shorts are too short and their tops are too tight?

As far as i'm concerned Bulldogs can do what they want with their staff, we know their supporters don't need much encouragement to go one step too far

Women's rights fought for the right for women to choose? That's where one group of women tells another group of women how to live their lives.

I thinks it's appalling to see women objectified in such a manner.

I work with a cheer girl and she lives and dies for it. Much as the guys are out playing footy this is her chosen sport of sorts. Lets not let pc get in the way of a group of girls doing what they love doing.

Not hard to find the bias against RL.

Women dancing in attractive costumes at NRL games is bad for image of women, if its for advertising a movie at Central Railway station it is legitimate fun and not criticised at all.
