The Sea Eagles have capped a memorable season by turning a profit for the first time in over 35 years.

While Geoff Toovey's team overcame adversity to make the grand final, off the field the club managed to do the same thing in what is a tough economic environment.
And they did it without the luxury of leagues club grant which many of their NRL rivals enjoy and a board that has been plagued by internal squabbles.
Sea Eagles general manager David Perry would not reveal the amount of profit achieved, the Manly Daily understands it is in the vicinity of $100,000.
"The past couple of years had been challenging and no doubt the next couple will be challenging as well," Perry said.
"Relationships are more important than ever and return on investment is critical.
"You can't afford to drop the ball and we believe we have delivered in some very positive ways."
Perry has briefed both the club's owner groups on the financial results last week.
"We are really proud of that," Perry said.
"We grew in all areas and not only that but I think we delivered some really good output and engagement with our fans through our website and marketing initiatives," Perry said.
"And our membership campaigns have been received in a very positive way."
This year the club held a CBD luncheon this year that was attended by 460 people..
"A lot of sponsors these days are emotionally attached but want to justify their investment and want a return," Perry said.
He said while a lot of clubs don't do that very well, it is an area that Manly has worked hard to address with frequent business to business events.
"And our merchandising strategy is as modern as any other sporting franchise," Perry said.
"We are maximising all our opportunities when the team is performing well.
"Now we are in the position where we have set up the business as we said we would some time ago."
Perry said the club had created a model that allowed them to talk positively about their brand and performance for potential new major investors.
