Matty Johns: "All I'm hearing is Sonny Bill's pectoral isn't 100% and they're thinking about not risking him (in round 1)" #nrl

Pecs take a lot more time than he's had to recover. I'd be surprised if you see him go around in the next month.

They also had Harrigan on the Grill team this morning and he said Geoff Toovey was the worst footballer he dealt with on the field.

He also said that he was a Souths fan growing up but when he was a ref he reckoned that he hated all the teams so he couldn't be accused of bias

Sonny Bill Angry over photo's taken at Home Residence.

In an unexpected twist, News Limited has learned that after a 30 minute session of watching himself naked in the mirror doing arm curls & subsequently pleasuring himself, Sonny Bill Williams acquired a slight tear to his left pectoral muscle, ruling him out this Thursday's round one blockbuster with The Rabbitoh's at WhoThe****Cares Stadium.

Sonny Bill's photo taken below, was as he exited his premises, abusing waiting media, and in particular Jayne Azzapardi. Sonny Bill cried, "There are some ladies here to stick their heads in your pants", and "S--- me off you dumb dog", and finally, "I want to go and punch you in the face." Sonny Bill sighed, the claimed, "I miss being a Bulldog".

Forget Ben Barba and Johnathan Thurston as the faces of the game. Anyone who has read a paper or watched a TV in recent weeks knows Sonny Bill Williams is the main man, but the NRL didn't have the conviction to ask him to do the job - or to invite him to the launch of the season. If the AFL had had a similar returning star in its midst, he would have been front and centre of everything it was doing. Instead it was left to the Roosters to choose whether they wanted Sonny Bill at the launch. Naturally, they shielded him from the event. The NRL has been obstructionist throughout Williams' return. The insistence that he doesn't talk about rugby union or boxing has been made official in writing to the Roosters, underlining the point that Williams can't promote anything other than rugby league - the code the NRL banned him from for five years for looking after himself at a time when he wasn't being looked after. At the core of the NRL's issues was a handshake agreement Williams made with Channel Nine head David Gyngell. With Williams' marketability, playing ability and sex appeal, it was a no-brainer for Gyngell, and he made a deal with Williams to be connected to the network while he was an All Black. That's something that the NRL has trouble getting its heads around.

What sort of drug cocktail is this guy on?

Harrigan is and always has been a die hard Parramatta supporter and that is from a bloke I know who used to work with him in the cops

OH NO!!!!
we will have to cancel the competition, cause going by all the advertising he is the only one in the f@rking comp...

Souffs now have no one to play

Weirdler is just a poorly disguised PR machine for team Mundane/Nasser. Show me a column of his that doesn't mention one of Mundane, Nasser, $BW, Quade Cooper or one of their sycophantic hangers on. It's pathetic, and how his employer considers that independant journalism (I use that term very loosely) is beyond me. I hope he gets a good cut from every contract Nasser negotiates, because he is doing most of his bidding for him.

I have nothing against SBW. His biggest crime was walking out on the bulldogs and surely anyone can understand and sympathise with that decision. It was a good decision. In a game where a contract means nothing and clubs and players regularly wriggle and negotiate out of contracts. Never have I seen a club or player pay such a financial price for his release so to me he has more than paid his dues.

Then not being allowed to come to the game because of the bulldogs for 5 years was a massive price in its self. If sonny bill proves to be a financial cash cow for the chooks and the league, you have to question the selfish motives of the bulldog club to deny the game a pay day to appease its own grudge with the SBW. In this same 5 year period they were guilty of the same actions by axing coaches and players with no apparent conscience

In saying that, while I wish SBW all the best, I am sick of hearing about the chosen one returning. Jamie Lyon was the best player in super league but still took time to adapt , Players like morley and ellis took time to adapt and they were all at the top of the tree and playing League

I don't rate union. It gives you the impression of a football game with crowds, anthems, teams passion, and the sense of occasion until seconds after kick off, when all the bravado and chest beating is put away as players virtually lay down. And this is what he has been doing for 5 years. League is fast paced, and he will feel the pace a lot this year

I hope he sticks around for a few years so the hype dies down, we see what he is made of and we get to watch him **** on the doggies. Now that's a promo Id like to see on TV

I love SBW. The man is a champion. Anyone who shafts greenbum and the bulldogs like SBW did is a hero of a man.

sick of all of them. The whole Mundine circus makes me puke and Weirdler sticks an known underworld criminal figure Ibrahim in his articles. What a co**head.

he'll play no doubt about it. Triple M just trying to get a bit more media coverage out of it for their own benefit. We all know old mate Matty's "Well i've heard" success rate so far...
all promotion for their own game coverage / grill team.

Channel Nine drops ball with Sonny Bill Williams lovefest

I FELT queasy during last Thursday night's Roosters-Bunnies clash, and I'm not sure if it was the effects of Spidercam or the Sonny Bill Williams lovefest.

I'm thinking the latter. In half a century of watching rugby league on television, I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it.

Put aside for a moment that the object of this slavish show of unbridled adoration was the same bloke who thumbed his nose at rugby league and walked out on his club, his teammates and his supporters without so much as a "Sorry bro' ". A player who so upset the then ruling body of the game that they announced a lifetime ban.

Let's just concentrate on the fact that it was an embarrassment.

To media coverage of sport in this country, to the other players who were relegated to support act status, and to SBW himself.

Whoever thought that "Voice of Sonny Bill" nonsense was a good idea? I'd expect it from "Gus" Gould - he has never made any secret of his admiration for the man he dubbed "Something Bloody Wonderful" as far back as 2006.

Surely there is still somebody left at Channel 9 with enough idea to say, "Hang on fellas, let's all have a cold shower and compose ourselves."
