First I heard was at my sons footy game on the weekend on the Central Coast was that Matt Orford is a sure thing next year at Manly or even this year if Bradford can find a replacement for him.

When I told my uncle who is a sponsor at Manly he said Brett Finch might be our half next year.

This year??  That'll be swell, what with him undergoing season ending surgery on his shoulder in the next few days.

Matty won't be seen at Manly this year unless it is in the stands. The Super League is played over 27 rounds and they have just finished round 17. They have 10 games left and have their finals series in September just like us. Matty is goorne for the season and is returning to Oz for surgery.

If he does come back to play then I for one will question our recruitment process.

I thought the paper said yesterday that Orford has a season ending injury and will not play till next year.

Orford is out for the season and needs shoulder surgery. I don't think and I hope he won't be back at Manly. We need to look at the future and go with the young blokes.

Tooves would be a more practical option. He can cover hooker too.

Plus he's match fit as he's on the field for 80 minutes now

Orford will never play for Manly again and I doubt Finch would either.  Would rather have des lace on the boots as our half than either of the first two.

That'll be payment for Cliffy. My question is how do you put that down on the sa;ary cap

I can see the headlines now:
    "Manly's season up in smoke"
"Manly stripped of season points as Gallop declares Sea Eagles 5 cartons over the cap."
"NRL investigation continues into losing TAB tickets found under Manly carpet"

Never mind my last comments today I was told the Tigers or Knights might be his club. The Finch comment from Uncle is credible but not confirmed - I would like to see Cronk but he would go to RU first
