Rugby Union World Cup 2011: NZ Sept & Oct

A big year in Rugby this year!
Tickets to the Rugby World Cup (RWC) have been on sale and people have been planning NZ trips for a while.

Official RWC 2011 Site:  www.rugbyworldcup.com

International Rugby Board:  www.irb.com

RWC Wiki:  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_World_Cup

RWC on Facebook:  www.facebook.com/rugbyworldcup

RWC on Twitter:  twitter.com/rugbyworldcup

Lookin' forward to a great RWC this year!
With any luck the Kiwis will choke and be knocked out in the Semis, the Poms & Safricans will similarly lose when it matters and the Aussies will beat Ireland in the final.

Was thinking of heading over, but cannot do it myself.
Will be watching many games, and participating in tipping comps mightily!

Not strictly RWC stuff, but the Wallabies leading the All Blacks 20-3 @ half time @ Lang Park Brisbane atm is bloody fantastic.

Sure the All blacks can easily turn it on and mow that lead down.
But if the Wallabies maintain thier intensity, keep up thier good scrambling defense and let Genia & Cooper weave thier intuitive magic they can take this Tri Nation trophy and give the New Zealand world favourites a good scare just out from the start of "thier" World Cup.

Go Aussies!

YYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH Wallabies!!!! Tri Nations Champions 2011!

Has the All Black choke started a bit early this time ? God it would be gold if they asphyxiate in this RWC on their home soil, that monkey would then become a very large gorilla on the collective backs of all Kiwis. I don't think we could find a leather lounge big enough.

Honestly mate, there will still be the lunatic fringe that would go crazy, but the general population would react reasonably well to it, considering what the country has been through this year with the Earthquake disaster and the mining tragedy just to name a couple it chucks it all into perspective

On the eve of RWC NZ 2011..

Sort your tips, plan which games to watch & where, stock the fridge..

Honestly, anyone who puts any $ on any team bar the top 8 or 9 to win it must be insane.

Go Wallabies!

The Atmosphere right across New Zealand would be amazing now, so many Rugby fans from different countries, so much excitement in the build-up to the REAL World Cup game on the planet.

Auckland is going off apparently, filled up the party zone which holds 12,000 in 23 minutes

Not buzzing quite so much down here in Christchurch because we don't get any of it. Was very, very nice to see a few of the stunners that work in an office near my work dressing up for the occassion though :p

Saw an interview with SBW on Sportscenter last night where he said he was going to 'grab this opportunity with two arms', made for a funny mental image.

I actually hope he stays in the spotlight for a while yet (as long as he's not playing for any of my teams) because the guy is pure champagne comedy.

He is a douche LOL

Bruvva Mundine will be rescuing him after the Cup it seems like

Had a chuckle earlier seeing Reni Maitua say he would play for free if Parra could get $BW

The thing bout these tourny's is to watch the lesser lights play. That's where the real success of it is.

Watching Nambia vs Fiji and sure the Nambians are getting flogged but just posted up a great try.

It was the same when the RLWC was on watching the Irish, Fiji etc.

France V Japan

Off topic I know but need to kill time before kickoff.

How good are the Japs going? Great atmosphere at the World cup, even Namibia had some fans revved up in the early game.

RE: France V Japan

you couldnt even put a bet on france they were so close to 1-1 while japan were 41-1 head to head. should have taken japan with a 40 point start

RE: France V Japan

There's a RWC NZ thread in the general discussion, lovin the rugby btw!

RE: France V Japan

Who gives a ****? Rugby Union is up there with Lawn Bowls excitement wise.
