Guys I ask that you all please keep this topic clean and stop from racial remarks.

Three types of people vote for the Libs.

1) High income earners who care about nothing but tax breaks for the rich.

2) Idiot bogans who are the very people the left (ALP included but not exclusively) are trying to protect from ruthless old example #1.

3) Redneck, white supremacist, religious a'holes.

All you Torys out there, ask yourself which one of these you are. If you're honest with yourself, you'll fit into one of them.

Just remember folks-Thanks to Labour power-brokers and union dealings,in NSW we've now got our 2nd premier that we didn't vote for,and now federally,we have a PM that we didn't vote for.Wasn't that a labour scare tactic against Howard? That a vote for Howard was a vote for Costello. At least with the libs,we knew there was a chance of a leadership change mid-term!

Noone voted for rudd except those in his local electorate. People vote for representatives, the representatives then pick a leader to be PM. Its happened before and will happen again, thats the way our system works. The leadership is not that powerful anyway.

Sorry dan, but I hope you got the point. At least im allowed misogyny.

Noone is pretending that there arent people in the background who are pulling strings, unions for labor and corporations for liberals. But you might want to have a look at wich party still accepts donations from cigarette companies...

PS. Get off my lawn you dam kids!

and if your honest with yourself you'll admit you're a goose

You forgot number 4) sensible people who lean towards the individual and society wide benefits of capitalism rather than a nanny/welfare state while still reocgnising that there are genuine social welfare needs in the country that require serious attention rather than just platitudes and motherhood statements.

and yes, you vote for your local member, but knowing full well who will be leader if that member's party wins the election (unless of course you then go and cynically kneecap that leader once he's served his purpose)

Living in Hervey Bay has strongly changed my opinion of Labor and the perceived social benefits.

The guy next door has 4..count them 4 Plasma TV's all bigger than the one I own, he has several high end computers, speakers, 2 cars (albeit bombs) XBOX's, PS3's Wii etc

What does he do for a living?
He gets a centerlink cheque!

All #4 is, is people trying to hide which one of the first three they really are.

Labor voters like duff are 1st class f-witts and aren't worth the oxygen they use.

You're a moron Byso. You care about noone but yourself. You live in a take, take, take mentality. And somehow someone else is a f*ckwit???

Don't call me a Labor voter either. Politics isn't about voting or policies. It's a philosophy. I'm a socialist and you & your mates are facists.

You can choose to look at the people who rort the system, or you can choose to look at the guy who got injured at work through no fault of their own and is now taken care of by the government...

The price of a compassionate society and free will is that sometimes, some people will do the wrong thing.

serious questions for you Duff,
What do you reckon Rudd's philosophical outlook was?
Do you think the folks pulling the strings in the labor machine have a real (rather than self imagined) social conscience or are mostly interested in wielding power and retaining that power?

I don't believe they have a real social concience at all. That's why I don't refer to myself as Labor. They are merely the party that most closely resembles my beliefs, within our system.
If a better alternative was available, I'd take it for sure.

Gillard, being from Labor left is preferable (for me) to Rudd, who belongs to the Labor right. She's more closely aligned to the Unions & less likely to take the capitalist side on certain issues.

I don't support Labor. I hate conservatives & all that the selfish twats stand for. That's all. I really see no difference between Tony Abbott & George W.

For a start, Tony's got bigger ears.....

I think Rudd belonged more to the labor self than the labor right.

How do you reconcile your utilisation of the outputs of capitalism with your socialist/communist beliefs?

True...but I will put this to you...you have never been to Hervey Bay have you?

Nope, but im not saying it should be allowed to happen either.

Theres blind money throwing and then theres constructive welfare, like for example on the dole, one of the things that you can get an allowance for is a pair of work shoes. Its not much, but its something that can contribute to be better equipped to get a job and support yourself again.

My wife use to work for the agency that made sure people were doing work for the doll.

The attitudes of literally 80% of people who came through the door was "I dont have to work"

They started changing their tune when their payments ceased.

One even had the hide to tell my wife "I can't go to that interview it's to early I have other things to do" the interview was at 11:30 am. Now I ask you what does a single unemployed person have to do that they cant make an interview at 11:30 am on a Thursday?

My wife, being the gem she is just said "Why what is so important, Xbox or Playstation, that's fine, dont go to the meeting, but we do cutoffs on Friday, so if I find you didn't go you will be ejected from the program
