I caught the tail end of an article on the sports report & it looks like Norths are trying to get back into the NRL as the Central Coast Bears. I didn't hear the full report but Greg Florimo who now lives on the CC is pushing for it.

Wake up Florimo, I don't ever want to see you losers back in the comp. Their last or only GF win ? was back in 1922 ffs  and i can't stand that dick head John Singleton.

They reckon the Central Coast Bears are a definite possibility for 2011, though games against Manly will take place at NSO.

Will be great to bank on an easy 4 points again.

Always good to have another joke team in the comp.

Honestly who wouldnt enjoy going over to NSO to watch us belt the bears around on a Sunday arvo? Would be brilliant.

    Re: 10 News Report

You can all start learning these songs for when Norths play again

    Here Come The Bears!
    Here Come The Bears!
    Here Come The Bears!

    (then everybody goes Whoooa!)

Stand aside, here come the Mighty Bears
Stand aside, here come the Mighty Bears
Stand aside or we'll crush you where you stand
The power and the glory is in our hand!

Stand aside, here come the Mighty Bears
Stand aside, here come the Mighty Bears
Stand aside or we'll tear you apart
We've got victory in our heart!

Stand aside, here comes the Mighty Bears
Stand aside, here comes the Mighty Bears

    (everyone chants)
    Here Come The Bears!
    Here Come The Bears!
    Here Come The Bears!

(then everybody goes Whoooa! into the key change)

Stand Aside, here come the Mighty Bears
Stand Aside, here come the Mighty Bears
Stand Aside, here come the Mighty Bears
Stand Aside, here come the Mighty, Mighty Bears!

    'The Big Black Bears'

The Big Black Bears are back on the road again
    Back on the road again
    Back on the road again
The Big Black Bears are back on the road again
    We've had a victory now.

    We've had a victory now!
    We've had a victory now!

The Big Black Bears are back on the road again
    We've had a victory now.

    (Dixieland band instrumental)

    We've had a victory now!
    We've had a victory now!

The Big Black Bears are back on the road again
    And we've...had a victory.. now!!
    Mighty Bears Come Marching Home
The Mighty Bears are marching on
    Hurrah Hurrah

The Mighty Bears are marching on
    Hurrah Hurrah

We live our lives to play the game
To win the glory and win the fame

    And the Bears are marching
    On & on & on

The Mighty Bears are marching on
    Hurrah Hurrah

The Mighty Bears are marching on
    Hurrah Hurrah

We played it hard with all our might
We battled hard to win the fight

    And the Bears are marching
    On & on & on

The Mighty Bears are marching on
    Hurrah Hurrah

The Mighty Bears are marching on
    Hurrah Hurrah

Today is the day we made our mark
We smashed the fukcers all over the park

    And the Bears are marching
    On & on & on
    & on & on & on

    Re: 10 News Report

If this is true I'm baffled.

How does Brisbane stay a one-team "town" while the NRL look once again to Gosford who have already proven their absolute and total indifference to NRL?

A game in Brisbane every weekend not attractive to the powers that be?

    Re: 10 News Report

They only proved their indifference to a team that wasnt committed to the area.

The mariners has proven what a success a community oriented team can do up there, it remains to be seen if Norths would embrace that model or remain rooted in their old heartland.

    Either way they are ****.

    Re: 10 News Report

So what about the people that used to be Bears supporters who are now Manly fans, or fans of someone other team, would they stay with their new club or go back up the coast?  Interesting... And would Norths still remain a feeder for Souths in that case?

Don't know why, but it's kinda exciting news

    Re: 10 News Report

I understand the Mariners recently signed a deal to the Stadium up there that makes it a lot more unnatractive to a League Team who'd want to be based there.

Seems Bad news continues to follow the Bears.

We would only get the Bears back if some other side relocated or fell on their sword and died. Relocation is attractive but it wouldn't be the Bears. Veru unlikely unless some club exec has hocked all the club assets in stocks and shares on a massive loan.

Nuh, doubtful. Now that Manly has won a comp, and they know the winning feeling, why would you go back to the Teddies!!??

It is great that the footy season now actually lasts another month longer than it used to.  And to actually win a grand final - wow.

I can't go back now becase I now own a part of brookie oval via a paver in the brookie walk.

Besides Norths will never come back into the NRL as the central coast have always wanted their own team not one affiliated with norths or Manly or any other existing NRL side.
