Hey, as the song goes "the only way is up,  baby"  ::)

LAST: 16th) Ben Farrar- he didn't train at fullback in the offseason, he's not a fullback, and he doesn't look like one. Good player, and Manly are currently playing very well. but he's only filling in because arguably the best natural fullback in the game is out for the season. But as soon as Manly get towelled on the back of a few mistakes by Farrar, look out for Will Hopoate to get a run.......He's a prodigy in every sense of the word.

hmmm, he has been solid at the back, but LAST!!

Well who is worse than him ?? I think anyone here would prefer one of the other 15 fullbacks running around at the moment. The only exception maybe Beau Ryan who is also filling in for the Tigers. No disrespect to Farrar, who is doing an admirable job, but you certainly wouldn't rate him in the top 10 fullbacks.

He is doing an admiral job, quite safe and chimes in backline well, Brett i such a loss though (sigh) If he was in I would be quietly confident about our chances, what a shame he couldn't be right by August!!

That rating loses all cred by having the words from Lu with it. Those
morons wouldn't know what day it was they have the collective iq of soup. As for ben he's never gonna be stewy but he's doin a damn good job filling in. Darren mate I know u seem to have a bit of a vendetta against the bloke but I think it was a masterstroke to offload bani for this kid

Farrar is probably in the bottom 4 or 5.  However that does not mean he is not doing a great job for us.  There are so many talented FB's running around at the moment.  He is not a specialised fullback but is extremely valuable to us due to him being so versatile.  Very good pick up last season.

I must say I don't really care for the individual ratings. In the end it is up to how they combine as a team that makes the difference. If Farrar does the job at the back, who cares how they rate him. In any case, it is better than having Robbo there.

Fair enough, couldn't quite think of all the 16 current fullbacks at the time. You'd have to say that Kelly isn't really a fullback either, just a stopgap like Farrar, but you are right nonetheless.

If they ranked the halfbacks in the comp Hodkinson would probably rate in the bottom few as well, means nothing.

I am quite happy with Farrar personally

Certainly not the best fullback in the game but he is doing the job well and it could be worse, say robbo or Kelly.

He plays like another ball player in line rather than a fullback a little like khunt use to do in some plays. Fine by me.

Hoppa jr is not nrl ready either and shouldn't get a run there this year unless absolutely no other option is available, otherwise I have the feeling he will have a shortened career

I did agree that he is not ready yet.  However if Des was going to pick Hoppa if someone pulled out last weekend I am changing my view.  We all know Des likes the younger guys to develop for a while before getting a crack at NRL.  With Des willing to give Hoppa a shot at his age it must mean he is ready.  I keep hearing young players dont get a go at Manly, so he must be pretty good if he is next in line.
