At halftime they are down to Canberra by 38 -12
this may make it easier for Manly in the last round if Penrith have nothing to play for

I reckon that Penrith and Souths will be harder to beat when they don't have much to play for. They will throw it around and play without pressure. We have a lot more to lose!

I still remember a game several years ago at Brookie when we had a semi final berth to play for and Penrith had nothing and they annialated us.

Speaking of Peter Sharp I see that he now going to be assistant coach at Penrith.  Terry hill will be pleased.

Marc Herbert - Crusher - get on the phone to his manager - 3 games and the kid looks like a veteran !

Record for Canberra is Meninga with 38 points, Campese didn;t attemppt the final conversion of the match

Premiership record is 45 by Dave Brown, the point scoring machine from the 30s

Raiders 74 smashed the Panthers 12 full time.

Sucked in - now the flanny wearers know how we felt in 2004.

Hahahahaha - I thought that too mate !

I believe (though not 100%) our victory was 70-7. So our score is superior by a single point... although that isn't factoring in three point tries and all of that....

Alan Tongue gave the kick to Marc Herbert without realising Campese could have equalled the record. Campese was filthy apparently.

There's an article on the news website saying Campese was right to take it but Tongue gave it to Herbert.

They (Fox) interviewed Campese after the game, he had no idea either that he was that close to two records.......so I doubt very much that he was "filthy".

Five-eighth Terry Campese missed a chance to equal Mal Meninga's club record of 38 points in a match when young half-back Marc Herbert was allowed to convert the 13th and last try.

He had to settle for 36 points via four tries and ten goals - equal fourth highest on the all-time list.

"I was the one who suggested, 'give Herbie a kick','' skipper Alan Tongue said, referring to Herbert.

"I feel very, very bad about it, I had no idea and Campo gave me the evil eyes when he walked into the dressing shed."
