If Glebe "Dirty Reds" survived whose jerseys were predominantly maroon what colour would Manly be or Brisbane be for that matter?

Manly would be a kind of turquoise, but kinda faded. It sounds odd, but looks ok after a while.

I did some interdimensional time travelling and actually went to this world you spoke of.

As it turns out, over there David Vaealiki had a great injury free season in 2008 and was justly rewarded with the Daly M. Only just nudged out Jordan Rankin for leading try scorer too!

Upon entering the NSWRL, the Manly club took on the colours of maroon and white. These were adopted from the colours of the President's Cup side which appears to have utilised the colours of the local Freshwater Surf Lifesaving Club, established in 1908.

Guess Manly could have just gone with the away strip, so mainly white.

Im not surprised re the surf lifesaving link. Back then rugby league and surf lifesaving had more of a relationship, players would often be involved in both summer and winter sports.

I would suggest, had the maroon and white colours of Freshwater not been chosen, that the Sea Eagles may have adopted the colours of Manly Surf Club - sky blue. Seems the next obvious choice..? Would have been ugly though

The glebe colour was a dark red rather than a maroon, like the Drummoyne rugby team. Glebe morphed into the drummoyne rugby union dirty reds. So probably no issue in terms of a colour clash.

Seeing as we drew inspirtion for Freshwater colours, perhaps using the colours of another surfclub like Manly (Light Blue) or Queenscliffe (Blue/Red) could have been options.

The Broncos had considered initially joining with a blue/gold combo as this is the city's official sporting colours. Can't recall who made the suggestion, but they instead went with the maroon in lieu of blue.

So if Glebe had stayed in the comp, instead of maroon for a colour choice, we'd have been marooned for a colour choice?

Probably Green and white (Warringah Rats). This would then pose the question as to what colours Canberra would have used?
