While each comp has it's pros and cons.
Someone brought up a valid point where are the likes of a Central Coast, Wagga, Northern Rivers, Canberra etc sides in the NSW cup

You can't just plonk teams of park footballers in and expect the comp to be credible. It has to be a reserve grade comp so you get first graders 18 - 25 playing there. Wests are without an affiliate NRL team and their stats show it. This is why the q cup argument baffles me. There are only three teams that can provide players 18 - 25 to that comp as opposed to the entire comp excluding Wests down here.

Regardless of who's seen what games, logic demands that the NSW cup has to be the stronger comp simply because of its higher level of alignment to the NRL.

Look the soulition is to change toyota cup to under 23s with 4 over age players allowed in each 17 man squad.

With the new TV rights deal there needs to be a national reserve grade comp with every NRL team.

You mean like how the Qld Cup has got teams like the Northern Pride, Mackay Cutters and Central Capras playing.

Not only that probably add PNG this week and another at a later date.

NSW Cup maybe a stronger comp because logic dictates but it's very poorly run.

Well yeah.

If a player is any good, good enough for first grade, he wont waste his time playing at a club that has no possibility of getting him into the NRL. The only guys playing at these clubs are the ones that no NRL club are interested in. They therefore weaken the standard.
