<p />THE validity of Matt Orford's move from Manly to English club Bradford has been thrown into serious doubt following claims the Bulls are trying to renege on a deal with another Australian player - Chris Walker - to make way for the Sea Eagles star.

Unwanted by the Titans, Walker signed a two-year deal with Bradford - worth a total of $400,00 - but the Bulls have refused to lodge the official contract with the English RFL after signing Orford.

Bradford, aware of Super League's five-player import quota, have four overseas players under contract - meaning Orford may miss out if the Bulls are forced to honour Walker's contract.

"The chairman of Bradford, Peter Hood, is a very astute businessman and I would be astounded if he would put his club in such a predicament," Orford's manager, George Mimis, told The Daily Telegraph.

Asked whether he expected Orford's deal to be honoured, Mimis said: "Absolutely"

But Walker's manager, Chris Orr, will also ask the RLF to ensure his client's deal be honoured.

Walker's representative has instructed lawyers to look into matter and possibly lobby the Rugby Football League not to sanction the move.

Chris Orr said: "We will be looking at all options and the players' association will be looking at all options and until Chris Walker's situation is resolved I can't see how they can sign Matt Orford."

"It sets a terrible precedent if clubs can stockpile contracts sat on their desk and pick and choose who they want to activate. There has got to be a duty of care."

Orford accepted an offer from the Bulls as negotiations with Manly over a new contract stalled.

Bradford is aware of the report but have chosen not to comment at this stage. The RFL has also declined to comment.

The Bulls were thought to have been interested in Walker last year but coach Steve McNamara refused to comment on speculation linking the 28-year-old with the Odsal club at the time.

whenever there is trouble it always seems there is a walker behind it in my opinion

Latest radio news is orford can still stay with manly on the 300k offer

:-X

Too late as Kingy now has his sights set on being captain.

Anyway rumour has it that walker won't be able to get a visa into the Uk because of his past history of trouble at casino's etc.

I knew something like this would happen

I was gonna post a few days days ago that you all better wait until he in uniform before you celebrate his departure. I would have joked that with all his prior loitering convictions they could still deny him a visa. :p

But this is another good excuse.

Wait and see........

**** Orford. If he misses out on Bradford he can sign with us for 100K per season, for 2 seasons.

If he doesnt like it he can go and play Japanese Rugby. He'd be the perfect height.
