If it falls through, Manly's offer could revert to an earlier (lower) one. Ox's bargaining chips are diminished. It would be rather bad news for him.

And I have only just discovered a max of 5 overseas players in the ESL, hence the wrangle with Walker who was to be the fifth.

It's true. He will be a gem in the slower ESL. I rate him as one the NRL's top halfbacks, in ranking, you could make him - say, for arguments sake - third best. But he a slightly distant third.

But it will still mean Premierships in England.

Bradford would be sweating too, a chance to get the ol' Manly team back together.
