yes the thoughts of a game in Singapore or Hong drive me wild.....but seriously this would only happen with NRL assistance, much like when the Brisbane Lions played in Shanghai recently.....the AFL pretty much funded that trip.

And it would be nothing more than an exhibition match, or at best a pre season trial.

But bring it on and the MWTS will be there for sure!!!

Id love it to go to Macau,id see a good mate and watch some good footy

There is money in Macau but its all left by foreigners at the casinos.
Singapore would be smart. Lot's of expats that would rush to a game, it wouldn't matter if it were a trial or one of the 26 rnds, it would be a sell out. There is certainly money to be made there by the Sea Eagles if done right and milked to the fullest extent.

Now Mark could you imagine 50+ MWTS's in Asia?

\"The great irony is that Manly was the club that almost went broke fighting Super League and its ambitious plans to take the game worldwide in the mid-1990s - yet it now sees its own future embracing Asia.\"

OMG.  Dean Ritchie, in The Daily Telegraph, is STILL flogging SuperLeague as the saviour with a genuine plan to sell League worldwide. How gullible does he think League fans are?

I love bashing the telecrap as much as anyone but thats still a bit harsh.  I don't read anything that is factually incorrect because thats exactly what happened.
So you believe that the Super League "plans to take the game worldwide in the mid-1990s" had any substance at all?  Any truth at all?

That they were anything more than a ruse to deceive people into supporting the News Ltd takeover of the game?

Seriously?

Contrary to Ritchie's suggestion, Manly were never against making Rugby League a world game, they were only against a hostile News Ltd takeover of the game. A takeover that, as it turns out, has all but bankrupted the game and made rugby league administrators mere puppets of an international corporation's self-interests - unlike AFL, soccer, cricket, etc who are in control of their own destinies.
The bit you picked on was that Manly nearly went broke fighting the war and we did and that super league had visions of going world wide which it did.  I never said it was a realistic goal.

Dean Richie is also one of the more fair minded News Ltd journos if you ask me.  He does about 90% of the Manly stories and pretty much gave Ox his Dally M Award.

As some have said, it would be for a trial or something, if anything. Additionally, NRL would be using it as a sales tool, hence would partially fund the attraction.

If it is a regular season game, it would be nice if:-
a) it was an away game
b) it was one of Manly home games it plays on the Senny Coast.

A MWTS tour of Singapore would be a disaster:
A gathering of 50 people in one place- community rehabilitation program
Wearing trucker style hats in public - 40 lashes
Singing chants with rude words - 5 years with hard labour
Drinking in public and causing mischief - automatiic conscription in the army for 4 years.
I'll see all of you again for the 2017 season!

Here's a question who would be the team that we play against?
  Cowboys in India.

Too bad the Reds didn't survive for a fixture in China.

Reds in 2013??

Maybe the Northern Bears could be resurrected in Beijing.  The Beijing Panda Bears could go on for another 70 years as a running joke, not winning a thing and they'd still be ahead of North Sydney.
