The guilty verdict will presumably kill off this story. Which is why the media hates conclusive evidence and decisions.

This makes Ricky Stuart's article a few weeks ago, dissing Brett Stewart, look very silly. (Not that this is hard!!)
We'll all hold our breath waiting for Ricky to clarify that with the guilty conviction, he no longer draws any comparisons.

Everyone knew he was guilty of something as soon as he tried to get his mate to take the fall for him, as the judge said, if it was innocent then why try to cover it up.

Outside of attempting to blame his golf course mate the telling evidence was that Katie Milligan, when Bird had left the area at the hospital, is alleged to have said words to the effect that her flatmate had done it and she didn't understand why he was lying. Looks like a Gaol Bird to me.

Will he face jail time?
Surely, bloke up here(Qld) just got 4.5 years for it. Judges are finally coming down harder on it.Still not long enough for my liking though.

It will be a travesty of justice if he does not see time inside.  Interesting to note today's papers suggest he will be welcome back in the NRL now!!!

Well, looks like hes going to be a jail bird.
Unless he appeals, gets out on bail and fly's the coop. Though thats likely to ruffle a few feathers.

If he comes back to the NRL, better watch out for people giving him the chicken wing tackle.

[/quote]Probably why they were attracted to each other in the first place - both F-wits.

And the idiot Thought of the Day goes to:

SHARKS captain Paul Gallen wants to see disgraced former teammate Greg Bird playing in the NRL again - and possibly in a sky blue NSW jumper.

Speaking at the Blues induction day at ANZ Stadium yesterday, Gallen expressed sympathy for his former teammate, who was convicted on Tuesday of recklessly wounding girlfriend Katie Milligan.
