I'm about to re-new my membership (ive waited to do it in the 4 days it counts) but looking at what's planned in the next few days, the Sharks will prob get the most numbers with the things they have planned..

01/02/2011  Cronulla players to hit local train stations (Sharks)
02/02/2011  Cronulla players to hit local shopping centres (Sharks)
03/02/2011  Sharks to launch the Harvey Norman bay (Sharks)

Do we have anything else planned to increase the membership numbers over the next 3 days???

4/2/2011 Sharks players to launch their new trophy room

Hopefully our players will be hitting the training paddock hard from 1/2 to 3/2 getting ready to play football.

[/quote]trophy room  for what????

Given the last update was 4911 before yesterday then we are now past our 2010 total, the second team to do so.

Well done to the people involved in that side of things.

Lets hope we can grow it significantly this year on the back of the strong start

Read on Facebook that we went past 5000 on the weekend

Don't be cruel on the Sharks - they won the Endeavour Cup (for teams that didn't make the semis) back in 1973!!! How dare you rob them of that achievement? :) :) :) :)

Naahhh Shane, it was the Endeavour Cup but they won it in 1971. In 73 they were being shown up by one Robert Fulton on Grand Final day!!

No-one ever worries about being cruel to the bears who i think also won a chanel 10 cup competition for teams that didn't make the semis.

One of the Group teams I think (Group 17).

Should bring it back but run it during the preseason

CW, I think that you are getting mixed up with the old name for Shark Park/Toyota Park which was originally called Endeavour Field.

Jethro - I am right. Sharks won the Endeavour Cup in 1971 when they just missed the semis. Their home ground had the same name. Check RL1908 which includes it in the team biography!!

Fair enough CW. I stand corrected. I just didn't remember that competition from back then (mind you I was just turning 10 back in 1971 and if it didn't involve Manly then it didn't need to be remembered) and when I saw that you mentioned the Endeavour name, I just immediately came to the conclusion that you may have been getting the name mixed up with the old name of the Sharks home ground. :)
