Rumours of necromancy abound at Brookie, not to mention necrophilia ( which I won't mention)

Is a necrophiliac someone who tackles above the shoulders?

I feel the average necrophiliac would find tackling unnecessary.

Tackling? Not when you consider the average necrophiliac starts foreplay with a shovel. Does anyone know much about the contractor who dug up the bones at Brookie. Watch him!

Scoop

Manly members receiving their membership pack for 2012 were surprised to see that their cap did not contain the team's name 'manly-warringah' on them, only the sea eagle logo.

Responses from questions put to the club informed us that this was a new direction to make the eagle a strong iconic symbol for the club, ala the rabbit for South Sydney.

However sources close to the club and on the promise of anonimity stated that as in history, the only reason a club drops its name is for a potential move.

"We remember that super-league clubs were simply known as their mascot and not the surrounds they were based." it was reported.

"The Sea eagles has taken this step to become more attractive if a move is forced upon it." (with this reporter acknowledging the use of sea eagles and not manly in the response.)

When asked why did they think they were being forced to do anything sources claimed that with top level talks with David Gallop it was determined that no extra substantial funding would be forthcoming to improve brookvale.

Manly's last chance of reversing this decision evaporated when Gallop was reappointed for a further 4 years by an 'independant' committee.

Manly's long suffering sponsors now have come to the realisation that there will be no massive investment to provide brookvale the type of stadiums that less successful clubs are enjoying.

"It's frustrating. We're one of the most successful clubs in the modern era but are treated like a third string club." it was said. "We don't ever want to move but the cold reality of business means we can't ignore it - and the removing of Manly from the cap is just a small step in what is going to be a brave new world."

Coincidental that you posted this GlobalEagle, I had lunch today with a senior board member who indicated to me that what you have said is accurate.
The new membership drive that was announced last week is the first step in building a much wider support base, this is the first of many new initiatives that we will see this year.
The reinstatement of Gallop could work in Manlys favour, as he (Gallop) is pushing for a relocation. He also indicated that would be hard for the Club to refuse the financial benefits offered including exemption of the salary cap for three years after relocating.
I did also ask him where the club was at with contracts on our halves and couple of other players, all he gave me was a grin and promised that an annoucement will be made at the a time when it would be of most beinfet to the Eagles.

I saw 2 people down the shopping centre today, One of them seemed quite manly, while the other may or may not have been a man. This further illustrates the sheer arrogance of the manly club, how they like to think they are better than anyone else, and a valid reason for them to never ever be allowed to play at henson park

when confronted the manly appearing person, who looked a lot like the shadow of a former manly player who has children, may or may not have smelt like alcahol.

Police were called to the scene and later revealed a man wearing white, and his blind dog were collecting for a charity, most likely for the silvertails to eat truffle saos and whiney bread( may or may not be fact)

Everyone seems to have shouldered arms and let this one through to the keeper but I'm concerned about you James. Have you been taking your medicine every day?

The PNG Eagles.

Just a bit too far north, look for the Darwin Eagles.

Actually it looks like PNG is not far north enough. See below for a sneak preview of tomorrow's DT.

SANTA SET TO GET CLAUS ON SEA EAGLES

In a move set to rock the NRL and the Manly Sea Eagles, eccentric billionaire Santa Claus has put an offer to the Manly Board to buy the Northern Beaches club and relocate it to the North Pole. The offer has been described by a source close to the club as "too good to refuse". Firm details of the offer are sketchy, but it is believed to include a lifetime supply of candy.

Mr Claus' private company Clauscorp has enjoyed bumper profits this Christmas season. After successfully negotiating a favourable outcome on wages with the Elf Union, Clauscorp has also had the benefit of children's expectations about their Christmas presents being at record lows as a result of the perilous state of the global economy.

Mr Clause's aquisition of the Sea Eagles is sure to be seen by some as a desperate attempt to save his marriage to his long suffering wife Mrs Clause, a noted Manly supporter and number 1 fan of George Rose. Following the infamous photos of Mr Claus and the Tooth Fairy coming out of a broom closet at Star City Casino in 2007, Claus has recently been photographed in compromising positions with multiple elves. He has publicly stated that he is committed to repairing his marriage, but sources close to Claus believe that he must first address his eggnog problem and move back to milk and cookies.

So much for the PENN being mightier than the CLAUS!

I mentioned in my earlier post that exciting new initiatives would be forthcoming, the latest has just been announced on the Manly web site, the Eagles Angels Women's Membership package. Well done again to Larissa and the membership team.

Its good to see some light hearted posts on this thread but I am quite serious with I am posting. If I was a lurking journo I would be taking notice.

This kid was just shown a copy of the Daily Telegraph for the 1st time. See reaction below
