Are they kidding? THEY ARE ROLE MODELS!!!

What was said is not bad language it is sexual harassment!!

I don't go along with this role model stuff

Role models are parents, and people you see every day. Not people you only see on the TV

You believe the thought that children (and adults!) are not influenced by the thoughts and behaviour of others, and especially of their heros? Seriously?

If this thought were true then the advertising industry would crumble. Why pay zillions to have a famous sportsman spruik your product. Why pay millions to have your brand on a footballer's jersey? Why do US politicians get movie stars at their rallies if not for hero influence? Why did cigarette companies pay to have movies show stars smoking their product?

You might think that in an ideal world people shouldn't be influenced. That's a different matter entirely.

Correct Isz BUT when they seem to have spent the week imploding it's no wonder!!

I think it's time we probably all gave up Football Social media and took up lingerie league instead!! (as in watching not playing)

Mate it will be a cold day in hell before I start wearing lingerie and playing league

The way you are brought up and the people you see around on a day to day basis have a far, far bigger influence on who you become and the values you set than somebody you watch 1 a week on TV

You wouldn't have found a bigger sports fan than me as a kid. Cliffy Lyons was my hero, however I have never smoked or grown a mo just coz Cliffy had one. I never grew my hair long because Chris Cairns had long hair, didn't go and get a GM bat coz he had one etc

I will never go along with this sporting role model stuff influencing kids bad behaviour etc

What really makes me want some solid action taken is the way Manly was so harshly judged even before being proven guilty.
Crap speculation that snowballs , effecting some blokes who are not just great footy players but humble quality ppl.
After being proven innocent there was little apology, if any & THAT situation imo effected the team performances throughout 2009/10.
This is guilty on every level, no maybe & must have severe reprimand.
Regardless of what ppl think about certain reporters ect, it does not justify threats, abuse & sexual innuendo from drunken louts who are meant to set example to the community as role models - or decent human beings.
Party hard, laugh & clown around all day but dont be suprised if theres cameras around - your elite footballers.
Keep in mind, we have had players banned for being innocent so I expect massive fines, bans & media frenzy to highlight the Dogs players involved in these incidents.
Btw - if Matai choked on Slaters ear like Graham there would be a call for a life ban, no doubt, so no punishment is too severe for that incident.

Imagine the posts on the Kennel if Matai had have done it rather than Graham!

The Berries' saga is still being played out in the media, so it is not going away, just yet. It still has penty of legs, so we are not the only club to cop it.
Nice to sit back and watch fans and administrators of The Berries squirm.
Haven't seen a quote yet from the Messiah, who before the GF was being lauded by his players that "He's taught me so much this season."

I don't think: "flying under the radar" will work anymore, DESpicable!

That's the irony / hypocrisy I've mentioned in other threads. Though I reckon you all knew it anyway.

Surprised that Erin Molan hasn't at least tweeted in support of a colleague. http://twitter.com/Erin_Molan

The rest of the Media is not going to let this go though.

Guess she's busy being a rev head at the moment.

She should head up to the top of the mountain and spend some time with the locals!

The irony is that Greenberg was concerned for Des's safety at Brookvale.

Given the footage of the dog supporters - burning jerseys & threatening to behead - he should be more concerned for Des's safety at Belmore. Heaven help him if he can't deliver a premiership with all the money thrown at him & the quest.

How fitting that Canterbury opted to be labelled as dogs!

Kiwi that remark is, albeit less offensive, of the same ilk as the alleged comments by the dogs players condemned by this thread.

And that is fine with me, I don't operate in the PC world and how anyone could be offended by that comment baffles me really. Completely harmless and not derogatory in any way towards her
