Happy to see Dylan Walker there...like his style. After all the grubby player managers run into Souths HQ with there jacked up contracts, hopefully someone will be standing with a Manly jersey for young Dylan. He'd be the perfect replacement for Stevie (if he goes...is he going?) fark I can't keep up with it:s

Matai will re-sign in the next week or two, I've heard.

RE: Kangaroos Four Nation Squad

No specialist five-eighth picked. Why, especially with the media darlings Brooks and Keary available. I can 'understand' Sheens shunning Tigers players because of spite, but you'd have thought the pivot from the 'pride of the league' would have greater claims to selection than the Newcastle youngster.

I assume Sheens is thinking of playing Cherry at 5/8

Also you suggest picking a specialist 5/8 but then mention Brooks who is purely a halfback?

Hunt deserves his place and the Pearce would likely be next

Keary is nowhere near test football, i'd suggest next 5/8 would be Maloney

My mistake. I should have written Moses.

Looking at that line-up, I'm surprised that the selectors didn't just choose the u/20 Kangaroos side for the 4 nations. Surely Gutherson is a much better player than mata-utia.

For that matter the trbos and young hoppas can consider themselves unlucky to not be making their test debuts. Who cares if they have no 1st grade experience.

There's more... if sheens hadn't had a feud with the tigers he would have chosen moses, brooks, Tedesco and sironen, surely?

There are a lot more youngsters that could have played from all the teams but happy to see this lot get a go, they will certainly add a lot of enthusiasm to the side and good on Sheens and selectors for having the balls to start looking at the future and picking the youngsters

Charlie Taylor was unlucky :)

Yes I was about to same the same but you beat me . Lol
He will be a superstar in the making under the system at the Roosters, see I am not wrong

Yet, Sheens reckons the teenager wasn't the most excited coming into camp.

"Daly Cherry-Evans - he was over the moon," he said.

"He reminded me of Cooper Cronk when he got his first chance after Darren Lockyer retired - there was no one more excited than Daly Cherry-Evans."

Now that the Hayne Plane has flown the NRL coupe, I'm amending my strongest team.

FB - Greg Inglis
WG - Daniel Tupou
CE - Josh Mansour / Dylan Walker
CE - Michael Jennings
WG - Alex Johnston
FE - Daly Cherry-Evans
FB - Cooper Cronk
PR - Aaron Woods
HK - Cameron Smith (c)
PR - Sam Thaiday
SR - Boyd Cordner
SR - Greg Bird
LK - Corey Parker

Res - Ben Hunt
Res - Ryan Hoffman
Res - Aidan Guerra
Res - Josh Papalii / Beau Scott

I wonder, is knowing he wouldn't be there why Jarryd Hayne was insistent during interviews that Inglis should be the Kangaroos fullback?

Pom here.

Inglis, Cronk and Smith. That's all that scares me in that side. I reckon we have your number in the forwards. If our 7 & Widdop can blend we certainly have the skill in Watkins & Shenton partnership to cause your outside backs problems. We all know of Ryan Hall's class on the wing too.

I think this will be the closest international tournament in a while. Come on England.

I think DCE is really going to shine in the Four Nations.

Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens has today named Daly Cherry-Evans at five-eighth ahead of Saturday night’s Four Nations clash against New Zealand at Suncorp Stadium.

Sea Eagles duo Peta Hiku and Kieran Foran have also been named for New Zealand, with Hiku set to line up at fullback for the match against the World Champions.

As expected, Foran will line up in the no.6 jersey on Saturday night.

*though get ready for 5 new threads saying the same thing.

The team named is:

Inglis, Mansour, Jennings, Walker, Tupou, Cherry-Evans, Cronk, Woods, Smith (C), Thaiday, Scott, Hoffman, Bird. Reserves: Farah, Guerra, Papalii, Parker, Cordner, Klemmer, Mata'utia

The Kiwis are:

Hiku, Nightingale, Kenny-Dowall, Whare, Watene-Zelezniak, Foran, Johnson, Bromwich, Leuluai, Blair, Mannering (C), Proctor, Taumalolo. Reserves: Brown, Eastwood, Taupau, Harris, Matagi.

JSL and Dunamis Lui have been named on an extended bench for Samoa's match against the Poms. If both play then all four Manly players selected for the Four Nations will play on Saturday in Brisbane.

Going up for the games. 32c forecast, should suit the Aussies. the no punch rule's a bummer...was hoping to see a bit of biff, after a season of push-a-thons.:s
