I disagree. Whilst Lyon is a great centre and ideally I would prefer him to stay there, I don't think we can win the competition if he doesn't move back to 5/8.
Bailey is a strong runner with a good off load and will be a good addition to the back row, but he is no starting 5/8. He has no kicking game and the attack breaks down with him continually. He is a handy backrower to have on the bench as he is capable of filling in at 5/8 or centre in the event of an injury.
Foran is a great talent, and if we can hold on to him he will be our future 5/8. However, Des is doing the right thing bringing him on slowly, giving him a taste of 1st grade without dumping the week in week out pressures on him, he is still very young. We need someone who can take the pressure off Orford now and it is to much to expect Foran to co-lead a side to back to back premierships at his age. Â
Lyon was very good against the Dogs and will get better with more time at 5/8, and that will allow Farrar to stay at centre.
At full strength I think our best shot at back to back premierships is
1. B. Stewart
2. Robertson
3. Farrar
4. Matai
5. D. Williams
6. Lyon
7. Orford
8. Kite/King
9. Ballin
10. Perry
11. Watmough
12. Hall
13. G. Stewart
14. L’Estrange
15. Rose
16. King/Kite
17. Bailey
