Compare that to the 7 weeks the scapegoat of the Melbourne slime got for breaking Newcastle's McKinnon's neck.
A bit harsh?
Matty Ballin was put in a horrendously dangerous position. The spear tackle and anything close to it needs to be out of this game. It is not needed. I feel no sympathy for a player who puts an opposition player in a dangerous position. So the 7 weeks was warranted.
Sorry MJB136 if my comments were seen as inappropriate and in hindsight a bit callous. They were not meant to be. I just wanted to point out the inconsistency of the entire thing when a bloke gets his neck broken and ends up in a wheel chair and the scapegoat gets seven weeks compared to Matty Ballin's throw who is not injured and he get's nine weeks.
I do think 9 weeks is suitable and I agree with your comments.
