I wonder if this is a relative of the halfback they signed off us? A BARELLAN man faced Leeton Local Court this week after he was arrested for drug and firearm offences. Neil Robson, 55, was arrested at his Old Leeton Road property on Monday after detectives from Griffith Local Area Command went to the location after receiving information from the public. About 2.30pm on Monday the detectives carried out a search warrant where they allegedly found 35 cannabis plants growing in pots, as well as in the ground. Police estimate the cannabis crop could have a street value of up to $70,000. Further searches on Monday also uncovered three unregistered pistols, including one that was loaded, a .22 calibre rifle that was fitted with a silencer and more than 4000 rounds of shotgun, rifle and pistol ammunition. Police will allege none of the firearms were housed in approved storage devices and were kept in close proximity to unsecured ammunition. Griffith Local Area Command Inspector Gordon Dunlop said the amount of ammunition and guns found were of concern. "We are grateful to the public for their help," he said.
