Throw tommy t in the deep end at half, Im sure he could handle anything. Plenty of greats have started young, i was at brooky for tooves, blakey, Gibbsy and Chisolms first games and they all had blinders

So ASSUMING we lose both. Since end 2009 the last 5 seasons we have lost
JWH, Whare, T Rex, Hoppa Jr, Lussick, Gift, Choc, Rose, Rodney, Gower, Kite, Fa'aoso, King, Hodkinson, Galuvao, Robbo, Mauro. That is a ridiculous turnover in players for a topline club. Yes some have retired but Ballin and Buhrer are the only 2 forwards left from the 2011 GF squad. IF DCE and Foz go then someone needs to ask why we can't retain players especially since Toovey took over.

JWH - huge potential, loose cannon - went for the dosh
,Whare - showed potential - had Lyon & Matai in front of him ( and they are still there ), Penrith in rebuild phase promise of 1st grade
She-Rex - went for the dosh and the back rubs from Des, even the Dogs fans are luke warm on him.
Hoppa Jnr - real talent - went for the dosh - parra paid overs + 2 years out with mission work
Lussick - some potential that he's never reached - Parra paid overs - went for the dosh
Hodko - went for the dosh - and we had DCE ready to step up
Robbo - would never have been on big coin - went to England for his payday & good luck to him
Kite - Penrith in rebuild phase, marquee signing for them, yes should have finished with us.
Joe G - retired
King - retired
Rose, Rodney, Gower, Richie, Mauro - with all due respect were just fillers
Choc - wasn't happy so we cut out the cancer
Gift - an average of only 15 games over the past 3 years, a decision was made and whether it's right or wrong time will tell.

As I wrote in another thead, pretty much all players leave for more money.

No team near the top of the tree could have kept these guys.

Yeah it sucks to see these guys playing for other teams but we've got Gutho and the Turbo's plus some other as yet unknowns coming through that need to be shown a first grade carrot and $$. We recruited Hiku from NZ u20's and within two years he's a walk up start for the Kiwis so there's an automatic contract upgrade.

Having a shot at Tooves regarding retention is low in my opinion, the first 7 on the list went went Des was in charge and he was the messiah apparently.
The salary cap, back ended contracts and our success is catching up with us, most top line players go for more money

Don't forget we resigned the best 3/4 combo in the game this off season. Kind of lost in the wash. We also resigned the world champ fullback, all our young forwards (Buhrer, JSL, T-Red) yada yada its not all doom and gloom...

Yep, I know Loobs but I though I'd made my point anyway.

O'k so in the event of loosing both .. well if we do i hope both are professional enough to play there best and guide us to another premiership in 2015 that will see us through a couple of years to find some good young players , cause we know its hard to go back to back .......

( i swear when i was a little fella i did see santa fly past in the sky )

Back to the title of this thread, if they do go they both owe Killer a fruit basket for making him answer 50 questions about them at today's NRL launch...

I think Manly need to sign at least one experienced half in the event that they both go. I would certainly go for James Maloney, simply because he has a great kicking game and organising skills. It would also allow us to play a rookie half back too.

The club needs to put a smile back on the face of the team.
I would seriously consider putting Tom T in first grade because he would light up Brooky and put snake at 5/8 and I would move Foran to lock for this season until Jamie Buhrer is right again.

Still say Lyon 6, DCE if that happens, with Gutherson given a full time position. If Kieran Foran$ already signed with the Eels, I want him to fester at a gym on his own. I don't wants him soiling Premier League.

If they both go, go after Kane Elgy and Aiden Sezer (I don't think JLJ is a first grader), and get a couple of top forwards like Taumalolo and Tom Burgess, bring through Jake T and we have a forward pack to take on the best.

Also, there is no way I'd be moving Snake to 5/8 at this stage of his career, he is a specialist fullback and critical to our success back there. He wouldn't be up to it defensively, and you can't hide people in defence on the edges these days. Besides, chiming in the backline to deliver the final pass isn't the same as being a 5/8 that is required to make things happen and be a creator (not just a link-man with a nice pass). Snake also organises our defensive line from the back and we'd miss that if he shifts to 5/8.

Personally, I don't think DCE is leaving.

I think DCE at 7 and Rudolph at 6.

I really hope we don't buy Aiden Sezer; he is useless.
Personally I don't think Sezer is useless, I think he has a lot of potential, he is just in a crap team and can't carry them on his back.
