The major thing minichiello has over Stewart is match fitness, and that is a massive plus in his favour. Stewart has had 2 80min games at fullback, that is not origin preparation

No English will get picked on 80 minutes though for Qld

Silly really picking Hoppa. He's not going to be around for the next two years. Sturat is such a cock. I thought the idea of his is to build a team for the future. Funny that. He's a real idiot.

may be the thing that changes young hoppas mind

In regards to the team, it is the worst starting nsw pack I have seen. Ennis is average, gallen isn't a front rower and Scott and creagh are impotent at this level in attack

KE you usually have good posts, but the two in here so far are LOL.
this team is heaps better and stewart > mini

they'd be better of hoppa at fullback and bring in idris

Fair point, although they really don't have anybody else with tonga and hodges gone. He also hasn't missed the best part of 2 full seasons and slowly making his way back

gidley is a piece of s**t
No he isn't. He is a talented, wholehearted player who I think just tries too hard at times.
He is Newcastle's answer to Alan Tongue.

So young Mataitonga is the result of a union between Steve Matai and Willie Tonga at some point?

Congrats to both the boys but i really don't understand why Hoppa is included??? Anyway my only concern is that they both have an injury free game. Good luck boys!!!

you serious or takin the piss

Just listened to Stuart. When asked why pick a guy who is going to be out of the game for the next two years, he replied he didn't know what was in Hoppa's mind. Is he on crack? Everyone knows he's going away for two years. Get real Ricky. You're a complete Fucquit.

Here's another wildcard out-there prediction (on top of the one I made in another thread about WH playing for Manly next year and giving up his mission). Ricky Stuart has an agenda: He will be asked to coach the Dogs after origin (or next year) and he wants to woo WH over to the Dogs; and using origin will be perfect for this 'blind date'.

You guys saying forward pack isn't good are kidding. Awesome pack, would probably start with choc and Lewis though. Lots of meters ib this pack. Well done hoppa! Jennings is the future for now, hoppa is the best option we have while he is injured. Who else could you have?

I can't see creagh or scott making metres at the start of the game. Mannah will go ok, gallen may be adequate but would prefer a specialist to start.

The fact is Ricky has done a backflip and is playing players out of position and chucking in players that will not be playing next year. NSW will not win a SOO till the famous QLD spine retires.

I heard it too. He said something along the lines of: "Its not my job to know what his plans are for next year"...
Seriously Ricky? Your job is to build an Origin team for the future, you sure as **** need to know if the players plan on being around in the future.

As for only 1 prop on the interchange, I guess he's betting that Gallen will last the 80. Its probably a pretty safe bet. Whether or not its a good move remains to be seen.

I thought Will was picked because he played that position (in place of Matai) well this year. As for the future, guys like Jennings and Lawrence (i think) would have been picked in that spot over Will. He's the only person left who's fast, defensive and footy smart.

I know nothing about Ricky and the Dogs so won't even go there, but Will played rep footy in younger teams, so give him a taste this year and hopefully he'll come back to the NRL and with good form he'll find himself back in the NSW squad regularly (ie the future) at fullback/wing/centre. Think of it like Buhrer - a few mins over a couple of games last year and with Will - a full game over a coupe of years!

Should we start calling you Agent Mulder?

Bit of both - I'll let you figure out which part BE!

If you pick choc there's no point putting him on the bench like it's some kind of queue system. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start. The pack has some good energy but does look a prop short.

Hopa: agreed it looks like a stoopid move long term wise. And like bg, hopa fullback, idris in the centres would have been the go.

anyways, good luck to them and come back healthy!
