Bandit

Reserve Grader
v Dogs.

When Killer dropped the ball in attack & Hiku lazily toed the ball to the Dogs (instead of making the play dead), and watched as they ran 80 mtrs for Mbye to score the match-deciding try.

Punt him for that ultimate lack of commitment or effort
(plus other blues / impersanations of a turnstile etc).

of course, many others should join him.

Yes, that certainly didn't impress me, nor did the drop ball off the kick return. He had a mixed night and I look forward to Snake's return. Hiku will be a centre one day, and it was nice to see him put that move on Chase Stanley (I know it was only Chase Stanley but still). He doesn't have the ball playing ability to be a 5/8, nor an elite fullback.

He's an interesting player, a classic jack of all trades utility player. Not the speed to be a fullback, nor winger, not the defence to be a 5'8, nor the quick thinking or playmaker to be a quality half. Also not the size to be a backrower or the defence there either. Centre will be his only specialist posn in future, and he should REALLY PRACTICE his place kicks, cause if he can corner that market, this is how he can best hold on to his first grade spot. Also surprisingly he's gutsy under the high ball. So he can fill in, but he aint gonna score 150 tries for Manly. Be lucky to get 50.

I think he'll score more than 50 (he already has 23), but other than that, I think this post is spot on. He doesn't look like a natural goal kicker, but maybe the club should really invest some time into refining his skill in this area, because lord knows we need a quality goal kicker at Manly.

Hiku's best position is fullback, but I think its pretty obvious that with Tom T coming through he is destined to end up in the centres with us. I doubt he will end up playing 5/8 and if he does it will be nothing more than as a fill in.

He had a mixed game last night. Came up with a good try but that kick in frustration hurt us. We should have had them working out of their own 20, instead they end up scoring off the play.

That kick pretty much sums up everyone's level of frustration with the way things are. It wasn't a good sign.

Can't argue with the goal kicking thing. While that will probably be Gutho's job in the future (unless we get a better kicker), having Peta as a back up wouldn't be a bad thing. He should definitely practice more because with Killer likely to be out for a month (same injury as Tom Trbojevic it seems), Peta will probably be our kicker.

When he moves away from wing, to centre, his strike rate will go south. I doubt he'll say no to another Warriors offer.

I remember first watching Matai and thinking he was terrible. He then worked on his defence, got bigger and developed his game to be one of the best. Im hoping as Hiku is still young and definitely has talent can work harder and develop his game a lot more and turn into a good centre for us. Needs some coaching though on certain aspects of his game.whether toovey can do that remains to be seen.

He goes OK but I am not all that excited by what he offers us. He's a useful back up but I've never seen him as match winner especially now that he's "beefed" up.

Has played some great games for us but at times shows signs of complacency. It may sound brutal but if a re build is what we need then the spotlight has to fall on every player and I suspect that's exactly what Fulton has been employed to do. Injuries have definitely derailed our season but we can't hide from the fact that effort has also been lacking.

We have a couple of people who seem over weight Hiku and Lyon both look like they haven't been busting themselves over the summer.

I'll cut Lyon some slack he is getting older an probably trying to warm into the season but Hiku has no excuse.

Maybe he has got comfortable after signing his new contract.

alot comes down to diet... how much pressure the club puts on them and how committed the players are ..

i remember one photo of all the eagles at lunch and every single player had a can of soft drink at the table .... i doubt thats a one off thing ..... little dissapointing in my opinion from the club and the players

I'll never know for sure but I think to re-sign Hiku he must have been offered a first grade spot.

Wasn't he the under 20 player of the year or something?

so he came in, wolfie was punted and it seemed kinda sudden.

That said, I think he's a good player (not sure of his fitness atm) and think that with his family back in NZ, he would want to play well for Manly as he has sacrificed a fair bit.

I'm a fan, and not just because I hope @Jax24 introduces me to him one day!

Add Mason to that list of players to dump, dropped the ball and set the tone for the match.

Williame should never see a blade of grass again. Ballin needs some time to learn to pass to the player, not behind them like he has done a few times over the last few weeks, might pick up how to run whilst there.

In all honesty I don't see a future for him within the club! He just lacks certain aspects in all positions he plays! You look at kids like Tom t ad he already looks a class above! Gutherson when on the field looks impressive! I get so frustrated watching hiku out on the wing! He carries a little gut and seems like he just isn't in it sometimes! He doesn't look fit, in saying that alot of our boys don't look fit!!

I agree he looks like he has beefed up on the field on TV however I saw him down at Narrabeen the other day and he looked much more athletic than he does on the box.

That kick from the knock on was fuc&ing disgraceful. The coach would give u a spray for that in under 12's. Just lazy and unfocused.
