Perry and the management have done a great job this year increasing sponsorship and the like.
The club did not want to sever ties with the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles and made this quite clear at the time the NRL threatened to preclude junior teams in the NSWRL.
The SCSE also proved a wonderful grounding for our players like Hodkinson, DCE, Vic, Lussick, T-Rex and Buhrer, just to mention a few.
If the club can manage to generate sufficient sponsorship, why couldn't we run a NSW Cup team (which clearly they're not overly serious about with a part time coach) and re establish the relationship with the SCSE, with 5 - 6 players each week?
The Raiders were spewing about Chee-Cam joining us and Manly claimed it was because he would not be counted in the cap and it just got me thinking... How? Maybe that's the solution. But, this year and last, they just didn't have the funds to support the initiative.
I'd love to see the relationship be re established with the Sunshine Coast, I guess it's just how we can do it, more financially than anything, with the NRL holding a gun to our heads.
