Have to say I was completely gobsmacked when we released Gutherson and Hiku. With Matai and Lyon close to retirement I thought they were the logical replacements.

Buhrer - good toiler and gives his best, but Siro is younger, bigger and could turn out to be a specialist ball playing back rower who we desperately need!

Gutherson aint no center - built like a twig. dont get the love for this guy.
Hiku - fat and lazy. Good foot work but Walker kills him at center. That was a good call imo

I read all these comments on players we should or shouldn't have let go. Seriously when I pick my side I want players who wont breakdown and can play most ie 95% of the season. Irrespective of their history, how great they used to be, if they are broken - let them go, having a made up team and playing players out of position is BS and heart braking like last season. We curse the performance of these guys because we loose but if we play them out of position is it their fault?

Love you guys but a rational conversation maybe best suited elsewhere? Only kidding....

See this is where I differ from some.

He was a local kid who played his way through the lower grades and showed considerable promise. I can get the reasons why he was let go (poor cap management) but there is something great about a local kids playing for the club...and which is why to see him playing well with the eels leave a bitter taste in my mouth

Plus the fact he played in all the junior rep teams alongside jake turbo & that makes it all the more disappointing.

He was as much as our future as the turbo's to me.

Couldn't believe they'd let him go under any circumstances
