I know it's not footy related and I hope you will allow me this indulgence, but I just wanted to say goodbye and RIP Gene Wilder, my co-star in Young Frankenstein. A great actor and a comic genius. If you youngins haven't done so, do yourselves a favour and check out some of his all time classics - YF, Blazing Saddles, High Anxiety etc etc.

I was just reading about him the other day. As you mentioned, he was great in Blazing Saddles plus Young Frankenstein amongst a host of other films.

He was great in collaboration with Mel Brooks.

Loved High Anxiety. Favourite scene is with Mel Brooks in the park and surrounded by pigeons. Runs for his life and is sheeted on all the way to safety.

Yes indeed. One of the greatest.
A master of delivery. Any other actor could have said the lines he did but not made them funny. His timing was outstanding.
My favourite is in blazing saddles when the sheriff says ," A man who drinks like that and doesn't eat is gunna die" I think he's hanging upside down at the time and simply says " When ".
    RIP Waco Kid.

When I was a kid, whenever there was a Gene Wilder/Mel Brooks movie on, it was father/son movie night. They just don't make them like that anymore.

He retired from acting over 10 years ago.

As for Wilder I always loved Stir Crazy and See No Evil, Hear No Evil.
