Heard Zorba on the radio this morning and he said Gift was in too much pain to play cards on Tuesday night, therefore was no chance to play Origin. Ricky can pick him but he wont be there.

If rather have the best team we can put on the park Ryan

Is Tony Williams, after coming back from around 3 months lay-off (ok, 15 odd minutes in one SOO game) the player to do the job though?

My team this week would be:-

01. Brett Stewart
02. Jorge Taufua
03. Steve Matai
04. Jamie Lyon
05. Regan Haika
06. Kieran Foran
07. Daly Cherry-Evans
08. Jason King
09. Matt Ballin
10. Brent Kite
11. Anthony Watmough
12. Joe Galuvao
13. Jamie Buhrer

14. Liam Foran
15. George Rose
16. Vic Mauro
17. Daniel Harrison

Regan Haika? Rofl. Have you watched any NYC games this year?

See I don't have any problem with Williams walking back into the team, same as I had no issue with Glenn Stewart walking back into the Grand Final side last year

True, but last year Glenn was suspended, this time they both have injuries which was stated that they require several weeks off.

Williams is just returning to have a last grasp at S of O, he may aggravate his injury again and miss another six or seven weeks, then go straight to the dogs, great.
I can't wait for all of this origin stuff to finish, it's spoiling club football.

Let's see how much is true. First I have heard about Williams definately playing
I posted it yesterday. It is happening. Mauro played NSW Cup yesterday.

If anyone else had posted this, I'd be doubtful but its EFN7 so it WILL be true. Thanks for the tip! Will need T-Rex's size today, Go Manly!

I don't have a problem with them leaving as we were always going to lose a few after winning a GF. That's what the salary cap does. I just can't cheer for anyone that signs with the Bulldogs. Compared to the Bulldogs I love the Melbourne Storm.

I hate the Storm. I thought I hated them more than anything.

I WILL be barracking for them today. That just about says it all.

Forget Tony Williams. Let him do whatever he wants. Give James Cunningham a run, or let Mauro play. Hell, I'd rather Tim Robinson.

We could possibly have Whare, Lussick, T Williams all on the field at the same time - Yuck !

Come on Ryan, you select your best team and all 3 of those players will be doing there absolute best to win Manly the footy Match. T Rex has said he feels good and just can't wait to get back on the paddock, let's hope he gets through the game and can have an injury free run to the finals. Manly need him on the park! You can't blame Whare for taking up a permanent position at Penrith. I wanted him to stay, but he was only getting a run when a couple of players were getting injured or suspended. He was Behind Lyon, Matai, Jorge, Wolf, Brett, Farrar (when fit). Would you take up an offer to play first grade or site in NSW Cup waiting for an injury or suspension?

Talk about sour grapes. I'm just as upset as everyone that these guys are leaving, but I still wouldn't mind winning the comp again this year. These guys will certainly help us do that, especially Trex.

Ok, a bit of sour grapes on my behalf I admit, but I'm also considering our medium to longer term prospects - especially the chemistry our young halves have with the rest of the playing group.

If Foran and DCE can start building a foundation with our next wave of forwards, it will bare fruit for us down the track.

There's a lot to be said of chemistry. There's a lot to be said of "one common goal".

I really think Tooves needs to blood Cunningham and others for many reasons.

I won't be cheering for the bulldog. Lussick and Whare yeah, but not anyone who signs with that pathetic corrupt joke of a club.

I completely agree. Tony Williams knew his exodus to The Bulldogs (with everything that was happening at hand) would be a slap in the face for our club, but it meant naught in the end.

Then again, unlike yourself, I feel that towards "all" players that want to leave. Just an opinion, that's just how I feel. I just instantly lose any interest in them whatsoever.

For mine, Tony Williams could train the rest of the year in his own backyard, never lace a boot for us again, and I wouldn't care, even IF we were losing.

So, you're prepared to not play players, and give up what is an excellent chance at becoming premiers again, just to blood players with a view to the future?

Let me ask you this - if a player like, say Justin Hodges came out and said he had signed for Manly from next season, would he suddenly become this great awesome player in your eyes? Or would he still be the wanker he is until he plays in the Maroon and White?

Good question... if he signed with Manly, then I'd be cheering for him, even though every time I see him play origin I hope choc would knock his head off!

Im getting sick of SOO screwing up the club seasons. I will be very annoyed of T-Rex plays 5 mins and hurts himself all because sticky wants him in the blues team.

I really dont see gift playing SOO 3. I cant imagine he will be fit enough. Like T-Rex, if he is injured in SOO 3 and out for another few weeks, ill be pissed.

Honestly? Yes. You sign elsewhere, I look to the future simple as that. Also, I rate Justin Hodges no matter where he plays. Just because they don't play for Manly, doesn't mean they can't be good.

Would I support him if he were an Eagle? Yes.

Would I support him if he were an Eagle and signed with Des Hasler? No.

Some of you might benefit from taking a different perspective on the issue of players signing elsewhere mid season.

Q: Does the club have the same venemous attitude to players who will leave next year?
A: No

Q: Do our own players have this attitude to teammates who sign with another club ?
A: No

Q: Do we Manly fans rejoice or become excited when we sign other NRL(Faaoso) players ?
A: Yes

Q: Do we feel for that clubs fanbase when we do ?
A: No...lol

If our club & especially our players dont present such an attitude when one of our squad leaves then I would suggest we as fans shouldnt either.

Today proved what a difference Trex makes to the team. Everytime he touched the ball he attracted 3 or 4 defenders. We are going to miss him real bad next year, but we may as well enjoy him whilst we can.

Spot on.
Origin should be played at the end of the season IMHO.
