For the guy's that follow the 'reserve grade'

Hearing a rumour on another forum that the NSW Cup Premiers will eventually play the QLD Cup Premiers on NRL grand final day for another trophy. Replacing the NSW Cup Grand final slot on grand final day. Has anyone else on here heard this?

I wish they would reverse the decision to not allow QLD cup to be a feeder team. It is a much stronger competition

Sound's like a good idea. And mabye if all the NSW sides (and Melbourne and Canberra) actually HAD sides in the NSW Cup, then it would be a better competition.

Why?

The QLD cup is stronger and better run than the NSW cup. And better supported too

Dan, that is exactly why they made the decision to stop the NSW based clubs linking with Qld Cup clubs. Over a couple of years and in conjunction with other iniatives they are going to try and improve the quality of the NSW Cup comp so it is a fair dinkum reserve grade level.

Will it work? Who knows. They'll probably just end up with two weak comps.

Thats just ridiculous though. Why should the NRL be so NSWRL oriented. Is it any wonder clubs like the Broncos etc have been pissed off in the past?

That sounds like a good idea. Wish we still had a side in the NSW Cup and also supported a QLD cup side, think of the player pool we could then choose from.

They'd still be hungover from winning their respective premierships one would imagine, so it wouldn't be much of a game. Hard to get up for a one off game a week after you win the comp you've been busting your proverbials in all season. Good idea in theory but not sure how it would work logistically so that it has some meaning for the teams.
