maybe we could just rotate the bowlers through the keepers role since it is so easy and play 4 quicks and 1 spinner every match

Great 12,000th post Fluffy. I like the idea, could revolutionise cricket as we know it. Would certainly stop the whinging from the bowlers when the catches behind the wicket go down, knowing that'll it'll be their turn at some point, and it ain't as easy as it looks.

Lol your a douche. No one said keeping was easy but keepers are no longer just keepers they have to be able to bat. ATM Haddin can't. He and marsh are currently the weak links in our top 7

That explains your love for him

I actually think Haddin is past it, but he is still the best option.

Kepping stocks are pretty low at the moment.

We have just dropped our specialist keeper and looking to throw a manufactured one in there, awful decision

Yep looks like he has the front running for the next test. They have picked him in the squad for the test, and there is a 3 day match this weekend which he is keeping in, while they have named a specialist keeper, Van Wyk, in the test squad as well, but in the warm up game will be opening the batting and not with the gloves, strange

Watling has been keeping in the NZ T20 comp the past week or so at the request of the NZ selectors

Obviously no-one's seen Matthew Wade. He's better than Tim Paine. Wade will be in the side very shortly.

Haha at the Chris Hartley suggestion. I'd take Cambo's suggestion before Hartley.

Further to the Wade v Paine comparison. He's 3 years younger, keeping is as good if not better, and averages 40 in 50 first class games compared to Paine's 31 in 40. 4 first class centuries to 1.

No brainer.

Everyone has seen Wade, especially the selectors, and if you think he is better than Paine then Shane has just moved up off the bottom rung of bad judges.....

An insult for nothing? You heard of harassment? How old are you and how often do you act it? What kind of role model are you for those around you? Would your family be embarrassed by you constantly harassing someone with a different point of view? Your no longer worthy my time ye olde keyboard hero

You may have the same coloured blood as I but you make me sick to my stomach,i will never be anything like you and thats something to be proud of

I never thought id live to see the day that a fellow manly fan made me sick like that, maybe some redneck racist imbecile but not one of the chosen, not one of the supposed intelligent ones,i expect more from bogans, we've all been through so much, be you 50 or 15 I thought we all would have much more character, apparently I was wrong

i never said i was intellegent....

and please leave my family out of it, I have never and will never mention anyones loved ones.

and its far from constant harrasment.

Clearly a lot of people haven't seen Wade. Some dude up top wants Chris Hartley in the team until Paine's fit ffs.

What's Paine better at than Wade?

Their keeping's at least on par, and Wade's a much better batsman, as the stats above show for those who clearly haven't seen him bat. You obviously can't judge batting talent, do you know how to read stats at least? A batting average of 40 means Wade scores on average 40 runs an innings, while a batting average of 31 means Paine scores on average 31 runs an innings. That's 9 runs an innings. That's 450 runs over 50 innings.

well actually an average of 40 doesnt mean you score 40 per innings. It means you score 40 per DISMISSAL. So i guess one of us knows how to read stats and one is you....

If you bring something to a discussion at least make sure you have it right :)

But the Chris Hartley call was a bit off the mark i will concur..

but after all that I think Wade WILL play after this test, hes the best of the rest once Haddin is gone.

Little to no talent lol

I think I would give up trying to evaluate cricketers if I was you Shane

Oooooh big words from one of the cool kids, you should stick to following your own team, why would I give up when I was right about Haddin being useless as an international? I said it a year ago and pure luck shone upon him, luck ends

To be fair you could do that with most cricketers.....call it from a year out and see how it pans out

Agree his time is running out

I believe paine is the best gloveman in the country at the moment and up until this season Haddin was the best batter of the lot (averaging almost 40 before this summer at test level), Wade is in a purple patch against state level players but not sure he has anything more.

Needless to say Haddin is on thin ice and probably lucky we have a top 3 with less than 20 tests between them and Paine being injured.
