I know this is a bit off topic and in no way relates to jjai, but shows the damage that Facebook is bringing to those who dont think about their actions.

On 60 Minutes the other night they had a story about kids posting explicit pictures of others they have in their possession.

A 18 year old in Florida posted a pic his ex (a 17 year old) he had taken and was charged with, producing, possessing and distributing child porn. He is now a registered sex offender who cant get a job and cant live near schools, churches etc

The warning is the cops are about to come down hard on this sort of stuff here in Australia.

Not to mention the fact that facebook is one of the first things an employer checks these days when someone applies for a job.

    spot on dan

and that is one reason i never mention where i work on Facebook or have a place of employment listed.

I can post some flamboyant stuff on facebook at times (when drunk) and i dont wont to give anyone the opportunity to say im bring my workplace in to disrepute

You only have to look around facebook to see that a lot of people don't make it private. I suppose they are probably long term unemployed anyway and couln't care less who saw what they had on their facebook.

That is why just before you go for a job interview you post something along the "pretty excited, got an interview with a great company that i can see me spending the rest of my career with".

Looks like it is pretty easy to access private facebook profiles
