Downtime -> this one wasn't my fault 
Basically just had a major meltdown.
We are hosted on a virtual private server basically a dedicated slice of a machine, which others are also hosted on with their own slices of that machine and it's resources.
I haven't heard the full story but basically there was a meltdown either on the machine, or our rack.
All fixed now so all good.
