Des Hasler and the Manly Sea eagles have called a truce allowing his immediate switch

FOUR weeks of rugby league warfare finally ended last night when premier coach Des Hasler called a truce with the Manly Sea Eagles and announced his immediate switch to the Bulldogs as head coach.

Looks as though Hasler weighed up the possibilities that he would lose in court from what I see. Very sad indeed. Say what you want about him he was an excellent coach , however I cant believe how much he changed.

He signed midway through the year, and slowly picked his marks to take with him. However as much of a perfectionist as he is he slipped up and obviously the evidence is there on the table..

Threatning legal action one day to nothing the next.. come on guys I think the board was on top of things,, Only thing is they were taken to school because they had no idea that Des was already signed with the Dogs mid season.. Anyway he has gone thanks for the memories.. But as manly supporters we will never forget that money and power got to your head

There is no court case because Des knows he is guilty as accused.

He had nothing. Why am I not surprised.

It seems odd that one day he says he can't make any further comments because of the possibility of litigation, and the next he not going to press forward with legal matters. He makes out that this is because he is going to the dogs a year early and doesn't need the money, but to me it seems like he is guilty and the Manly club nailed him for it. Although I don't have a lot of faith in the board, maybe Hasler was one of the big cancers hurting our club despite the success he had.

Cant wait til Monday to see how Graeme Hughes still tries to put all blame on the manly board.
As many of us as possible should email him telling him he got it so horribly wrong.

The good thing is it was diagnosed early, cut out, and the sea eagles are now in remission.

He tried to call the club's bluff. It didn't work and he has lost everything. If what I am reading in post about the email is true then I am gobsmacked. I thought for a long time that he was a good man with morals and values. However, he even went as far as to stab his own friend Zorba in the back.

Glad he's gone, but gutted right now.

Well that's good that he will move on with no legal threat anymore

You may well be right, Mr Zimmerman.
This surprises the hell out of me - I felt sure he'd try to clear his name, but it looks like he doesn't think he can win. Notice that he's still trying to spin it in a positive light: "I sleep well at night", "It's time to move on", "I want to avoid more negative headlines", etc. Maybe it's really, "I want to avoid more negative headlines now they're starting to be about me".

Very true bones between him and the boof head that sits along side will still find away to paint the manly board in a dysfunctional light. I am really starting to think they got it right!

Wish we had options for a less bias football show on the radio.

De$ is laughing. Instead of getting $450k with manly hel be getting $750k at the scumdogs. After what has come to light, that's all De$ is worried about.

Great news, now we can focus on 2012, hope Toovey gets the boys ready.

Only thing worrying me is the players walking out before season start.

Look at it this way- those that want to go, will be gone before 2012.

Clean slate start -B2B

Fingers crossed.

Greenturd will be smiling now - Manly played right into his hands. I wonder if Des will need a police escort when he arrives at Brooky in round 8.

I tried to call this poor excuse of a program last Friday, waited on hold for a while, then they took my number, but they never called me back.
That C#nterbury hack Hughes was giving it to the board all day as if Des was the one hard done by, and by now all of the inbred Manly haters were coming out of the woodwork and giving it to our club and nothing towards Hasler or the dogturds.
He said the Manly board was unprofessional and negligent in their duty in not signing Hasler earlier, he said Penn lacked real leadership.
Naturally Hughes is not going to deride the future dogturd coach and has taken Hasler's side without any of the facts.
The only one on this show with some sort of credibility is Papworth,at least he said that perhaps what the board was offering Hasler was never enough.

Will this be the first sentence Hasler says to Dymock at Belmore this morning?
"Jim, get out of my seat!" haha
