Well at least with all the death riding of the match in Tamworth it won't be hard to come up with a good 'ol country and western tune to go with the theme of the event. To kick it off, here's a little something from our good friend Bobby Bare...

Whilst the contest is gone, the exposure players get to adjust to new concepts is invaluable.@

The injury fears are just that, as even this year players have gone down with season ending injuries in training:cool:

Tamworth will be rocking :guitar:

Fonua-Blake is one of 11 Sea Eagles players who are involved in the various representative games this weekend.

Star trio Tom Trbojevic, Dylan Walker and Jake Trbojevic would also have been in the City side had they been injured.

It was a particularly cruel blow for the passionate Jake Trbojevic who was ruled out yesterday after being named in the side.

“He was the first one here for a medical and was devastated to be ruled out,” Sironen said.:(

“His knee has been giving him a bit of grief, he’s been playing with it at Manly.

“There was discussion between the City Origin staff and the Manly club and it was decided that he needed to be rested for a week.

“He’s a great kid and he’s still been going enormous

Hopefully it doesn't harm his Origin chances.

Jake should at the very least be on the bench for NSW.

Darcy has been called up to replace Addin Fonua-Blake, who became ineligible after revealing that he was a Junior Kiwi in 2014

I still like the cty country concept but the games themselves are terrible. Maybe they should consider the old qld option, where 6 nrl players per team and the rest are the best of the best city and country younger players or even older warhorses still getting around

It could be used to develop talent, which the nrl desperately needs, but just isnt. Make it saturday arvo,( screw friday night) get 3 games going back to back, juniours , seniors and reps all of the same concept.

Wonderful story on how Freddy took the City Team down to Woolloomooloo to help Orange Sky Laundry.

Fee mobile laundry service set up by two young men from Brissy, now Young Australians of the Year.

As Freddy said, once they put in their laundry, there is nothing to do but chat.
Gives the Players an appreciation on how lucky they are
