Went past Brookie this morning on the bus and there appears to be a lot of work underway in the Jane Try stand – not sure what but all the seating is covered by tarps and some scaffolding in place.

Hopefully the tarps are not the new roof being proposed….

I would be satisfied with barbed wire and spikes to keep the riff raff out.

So no real news on the oval then?

What we should do is hold these Dirt-Bike events like Energy Australia in NC, then they would have to replace the pitch.

Christina Kirsch please note - if we had a better stadium then we could also have David Beckham play at Brookie oval.

Not a bad alternate use for the oval in the offseason.

Actually Christina Kirsch wanted to spend about $250k on upgrading the playing surface so that it was suitable to host more events each year. That apparently would have been in the vicinity of 20-25 events per year. The other councillors went for the cheaper $121k option instead. Which theoretically will provide a surface suitable to the number of games played on it now.

Get the pitch sorterd before the stadium, put forward community days at brookie oval and the council will fold to the pressure !
