I understand your frustration, but it's a stupid thread. Orfords' grubber kick in his own half, Burns's penalties (1 with the ball), King's stupid penalty after a good tackle and some of Watmough's defence are some of the reasons reasons that all add up. Add kite, but his failure to pick up a loose ball isn't like he was running the ball out from his own line and had poor ball security. he should have dived on it, yes, but don't attribute that as to why they lost the game

Barks the ball that Kite dropped that I am referring to was the one that he dropped in the second half running the ball out of our 25 metre zone. It was a cricial set of 6 for us and St George scored shortly after (I think from the next set of 6 tackles) which really put the pressure on us.

What annoys me most about Kite is that he is a seasoned 1st grader, is on a mega salary and yet I go to each game and know that he is going to drop the ball at least 2 or 3 times a game. It simply is not good enough for a player of his supposed status to make so many mistakes with his handling.

In saying that I acknowledge that there were a number of other mistakes that cost us on the night. It just annoyed me that we were the better team and deserved to win but we made too many mistakes and handed the game to saints.

Orford really needs to step up for us in the close games and get us over the line. I am concerned that he is not doing that for us and that coaches like Stuart have recognised this. I thought that he took a few poor options on the night.

The bottom line is that for 350k, Kite should be a DOMINANT prop, week-in week-out, not just turning up for 20 minutes a game when he feels like it. If I moved to a new job on a huge salary and performed like a junior on half my wages, what do you think would happen to me?

You would then be one of Manly's starting props.

Fluffy I lt this slip in another thread but I cant let it go twice. People dont chock, well maybe in porn, they CHOKE

fair enough Tooks. I don't think Kite had a good game either and i agree it was a game Manly should not have lost.

Bring on the Dog's!

i hate it when people mention what the players are on... sometimes clubs have to pay over the odds to sign players of decent calibre for them to choose us over top 4 clubs. Now its getting easier to sign Bell and Orford and the likes because of our improving image in the NRL.

Just ask Souths.. they offered Braithe twice as much as Roosters.. where did he go? Exactly.

Kite is a good solid player.. he may be playing below his 'price tag' but we paid over the odds to get a decent prop.

I agree with you Downie there is a problem with Dunners defensive technique, particularly with him slipping off some tackles, that needs to be sorted out. It's just not as black and white or extreme as sometimes portrayed, it ain't just him, and he does have some significant compensating positives that could be crucial at season's end, assuming he's in form.

OK, that's cool. All I remembered from it was either Leuluai or Byrant falling for the dummy and then Dunley falling off the tackle.
