Remember our best player was out for most of the season, and underdone when he finally came back.
The board room dramas, the Stewart/watmough drama a week before kick off really set us back IMO.
We also had a pretty bad injury toll at the start of the year, we had Suniula, Bani and Neumann in the same backline at one stage!

How can Melbourne NOT be favourites?? They're keeping Cronk, Slater, Inglis and Smith....they should be favourites comfortably.

Manly should be at least  $9
Parramatta should be at least $7

Interesting odds. I wondered last night about a Manly Parra Grand Final, there hasn't been one of them for a while, I think the NRL would love it in 2010 and I would quite like it too.

Apparently on another market we are $7, behind Parra & Storm. They are all approx right, I think we will give it a red hot go next year.

With all the off field issues behind us and no injury and players performing second on line. My price would be around $6.50

Storm favourites should be very short $4.50 - the bubble will have to burst sooner or later.

Parra played like the Warriors did in 2002 when they were runners up. Need to play off the back of throwing the ball around and will not be able to keep it up next year. Will not win it next year. $8.00

Bulldogs will be strong still - $8.00

Dragons - should come with a choking warning = $10.00 is fair enough.

Roosters - $15 way to short. Brian Smith will not fit in there - Closer to $25.00

North Qld - couldnt pick this team form week to week let alone pre-season. I would have them $12.00

Titans will find it harder next year $16.00 way to short = $20.00 at best

Rabbits should be $30.00

Tigers are a chance and would shorten them to $15.00

Panthers Raiders Wariors all at $40.00 but no chance of winning

Knights at $34 is good odds I would even have a punt on but they should be $21.00

Pretty pointless excercise, assessing odds at any early stage.

I was thinking the same thing, but I don't think that it will.

I think that the NRL is only going to ramp up their support for the Storm, especially after 800,000 or so tuned into the GF broadcast in Melbourne. Melbourne is a huge market and very hard to ignore for the NRL. The push from the NRL will only continue, especially with the TV rights coming up. I think that we can expect the Storm in a few more grand finals over the next decade. :'(

This is a much more realistic set of odds. Eels are too short (but probably taking the silly money after the GF) and Titans should be about 15's. Otherwise it looks very accurate to me.
