    Woodsie's Team List Tuesdays

In the Injury News - Jamie Humphreys picked up a left hip pointer injury in the NSW Cup on Sunday. He will miss this weekend but is expected to be available for selection in round four.

    MVP: Rd 2 v Roosters

    3) Paseka - best game ever 2) Haumole - beast, as usual 1) Koula - contained Manu, a feat in itself Seems unfair to deprive others like Brooks, Aloiai, Brown, Jake of points.

    Post-Game Discussion Manly v Roosters [Round 2, 2024]

Thankfully the rain stayed away and it was a great atmosphere at a packed Brookie today. (However, Eagle Rock was conspicuous by it's absence.) Paseka and Aloiai set the tone from the first hit-up Paseka had his best game ever Brown made an impact when he came on and there was no ill-discipline...

    Post-Game Discussion Manly v Roosters [Round 2, 2024]

Very much so and totally agree! Note to Manly: please explain?

From what I saw of him today, he didn't do much and certainly nothing to force his way back into firsts.

Thanks for this. How well spoken was Jamie Buhrer - very impressive, well done.

Game Day: Manly v Roosters [Round 2, 2024]

The rain's cleared on the Northern Beaches and fingers crossed stays away till after the game. My concerns are whether we can contain their tall wingers, overcome their aggressive pack and not be goaded into undisciplined footy (ala Brown). Looking forward to seeing Brooks in Manly colours at...

Spot on Will, I can't understand either. Sexton is a ready-made 7, Hutchison is not.

Hope you have a great game day experience at Brookvale on Sunday @St Etrigan and it's topped off perfectly with a Manly win! Safe travels & enjoy!

    Woodsie's Team List Tuesdays

And back at Brookie in front of a full house will surely give them an extra lift.

    Woodsie's Team List Tuesdays

Well said Al and today's interview in the Club News thread confirms what you're saying. I've never liked the guy but he seems to have matured and done everything asked of him in the preseason (of course it's in his best interests to) and yes hopefully it continues. My other concern is that he...

Agree, Lodge is a glaring omission from the 'Injury Update'. Have to assume he's fit and ready....we wish!

    Pre-Game Manly v Roosters [Round 2, 2024]

Maybe they are... As for Humphries not named for BWSE, note none of the other reserves are listed either, as in Arthur, Vaega, Parker, Woods. It's probably more a case of they'll be slotted into BWSE on Saturday when the teams are finalised. This was the norm last year.

    Other Games [Round 1, 2024]

Interesting you say that as I heard Joel Caine pointing out that most if not all of the Phins' pack are in their 30's and he thought they're going to struggle to keep up. He was right! They started off well in '23 but I think they're going to have 2nd year syndrome...

    Other Games [Round 1, 2024]

The Phins reminded me a bit of how the Knights were the other night - at home in front of a packed crowd, thought they just had to turn up and weren't willing to defend and do the hard yards. On the other hand, the Cows have a talented side and were very good, particularly in the first half. I...

Your views on 2024 after Round 1

Based on round 1, I'd say top 4 will be Penrith, Roosters and possibly Storm and Manly. Penrith suffering from GF and WCC hangover and will snap out of it soon. Storm largely depends on when Munster returns and for how long - it doesn't sound like he'll be back anytime soon. Broncs, Cows...

    Other Games [Round 1, 2024]

Me thinks the Knights were too cocky, thought they just had to turn up on home ground with a full house. Add to that Ponga was underwhelming & made a few errors. Good on the Raiders.

    Pre-Game Manly v Roosters [Round 2, 2024]

@Jethro note the header for this thread says the game is at Leichhardt Oval on 12 March, and similarly the Game Day thread. As always, many thanks for the games' threads and all the details you always provide in them are much appreciated.

    Favourite factor today

Clawing their way back after the two tries straight after half-time, when normally the heads and intensity would drop. Also our superior fitness, as well as Brown's energy.

    MVP: Rd1 v Souths

Eenie meenie miney mo - 6 pts between 17 won't go. Therefore: 3) Brooks - awesome club debut 2) Haumole - beast with great stats 1) Turbo - welcome back Tom Special mentions: Brown (lead the way with plenty of energy), Burbo (12 is his to lose), Croker (gutsy), Jake (46 tackles), Garrick, DCE...
